Can someone explain to me what these PFICO's are? I have figured out that you must have either a bank account or credit card with Wamu to be getting them. Though, is there any validity in their scoring, or is it just another FAKO? It seems as though the PFico gets more respect than the average FAKO, so I'm assuming there is a difference.

A pfico is wamu's bank enhanced internal fico scoring. Wamu offers this feature to their credit card customers.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but this is simply wamu's internal way of checking credit card worthiness. It often varies from my score from my fico as the pfico score puts a heavier weight on credit card history rather than the complete fico picture.

It's probably true that WaMu goes by the CC-enhanced score, but this is more than just their internal scoring system. We call it PFICO for convenience's sake, but it's actually a legitimate FICO score, although specialized, that is available for purchase by all CCC's, not just WaMu/ Providian.

Just remember that you are looking at last month's score. That, plus the differently-weighted formula, means that your PFICO score might well look nothing like any of your current classic FICO scores.

ive never heard of a PFICO until yestarday. i recieved mine through (hsbc)best buy M/C. Its through a company call (CREDIT KEEPER)?? And yes my score are diffrent as well +38 points higher than what EX says it is..

I don't think that was supposed to be a PFICO. Unless they claim on there somewhere that this is a score from FICO, then it's a FAKO. CreditSecure and similar products (TrueCredit, etc.) are great for monitoring your credit REPORTS, but they are worse than useless for their scores and advice. Skip the score pages, and just monitor your report changes.

Be patient on the PFico update on the Wamu site. It took mine several months to show...I think I actually saw the first at about 120 days or so. It's also slow to report on some months. My July and August updates posted within 2 weeks of each other.

I've stopped paying attention to my PFICO. when i opened my amex card a few months ago my PFICO dropped 80 points. that is when i realized just how off that thing really is. It is still low although it has recover 40 points. I don't use my wamu card, and i'm sure that has something to do with the decreased score. I haven't checked my fico scores in a while, but i'm sure they aren't as low as my PFICO suggests.

The score seems to be very sensitive to new accounts. Maybe average age of accounts as well. That is why your score tanked.

The PFICO score is fickle. Focusing on it will make you psychotic.

Those PFICO scores are PFICKLE!

I just checked my pfico and it scared me so much that I just bought my TU score. The pfico is 50 pts lower than the classic, probably because last month I opened a new Juniper acct.

It's probably due to the dropping off of a CO and some rebucketing, but I'll definitely take it!

Still don't know why DH's Providian account has an updated PFICO but neither of our WaMu accounts do?!

Try looking at the history on the chart. My score doesn't update either unless there is movement but my chart updates every month on the same day.

Yeah, that's what happened last month, i.e. it was on the chart but month not updated on the summary page. However, neither is updated on either WaMu account so far for August.

I'm so glad I read this! I haven't pulled my scores from here in about a week, or whatever the date in my profile is. I'm not planning to pull until the end of this month or the first of Sept. My TC EXP (yes I know it's a fako) hasn't changed in a few weeks but it's about the same as it was last time I bought here. I just got my My Points card and get a PFICO from them. Checked it and it's 629. I wasn't thrilled of course. From what I just read it takes CCS into more consideration than anything else? I have mortgages and a car loan that are on my actual Fico. I know Mortgage enhanced ficos are different than the ficos from here also, and I'm not done with repair yet, still paying off balances and trying to get rid of 2 bad marks. I'm just hoping the real estate enhanced score is closer to my fico than the Pfico.
