The Cap 1 Venture 40,000 miles question

Ok.... When are the 40,000 miles redeemable? What I mean specifically is whether I can stay at a hotel INSIDE of the 3 months you need to spend $3000 and still be able to use the $400 credit to pay that off OR must the miles be credited to my account first and then I can book a hotel stay and use 40K miles to pay it off?

As far as I know the hotel charge can be part of the 3K.

Yeah, and then I think you can use the Purchase Eraser to erase the hotel charge after you get the miles.

exactly right - i just purchase erased $480 and change off a limo ride this week. felt pretty dang good

+1 I used a hotel charge to help meet my $3000 min spend and used the 40k bonus to erase part of the charge. Miles come fairly quick and the purchase eraser tool is easy to use.

It's pretty simple. You have 90 days from the date the charge posts to use whatever miles you've earned/accrued to "erase" it/part of it.

So, if you use the card in the first few days of opening on a travel expense (e.g., hotel), and the 40K posts two months later, you'll have just under 30 days to use those points to erase the travel expense.
