Reopening an old comenity bank store card

Can this be done. Grandma had a fashion bug card, opened in like 2010 and closed about a year later. Small limit like 2-300 or so. She closed it. Wasn't ever late on it. Just wondered if it would help her AAOA to reopen this account? Any thoughts. Thanks! Would it be another pull?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say given the aging, no. If it was only a couple of months (and she had a balance she was paying on, keeping the account "active") then maybe. But 4-5 years later? Probably not. She'd have to app again.

It will not be re opened and it will stay on file up to 10 years post close.

My first credit card was a Structure store card opened in 1999. Long story short, I closed it in early 2002. In 2005 I realized I needed it again for clothes and had no credit cards. I brought my drivers license to the Express store, name change of course, and they re opened it and it kept my history. However this is a ten year old experience.

Do you recall whether they HP'd your credit? They may well have still had you in their system so they didn't need you to fill out an app, and then they just re-ran your credit to re-approve you and backdate your account.

If they truly reopened the account after that amount of time without re-running your credit, well, color me surprised!

UPDATED info;

So the account was closed by comenity due to inactivy the last month it reported to her credit was around8/ 2013 so almost 2 years ago.

Fashion Bug was bought out. The accounts have been phased out and closed.

whoops, typoooo, not fashion bug. it was avenue. not sure how i got them mixed up!
