I don't have many, just 5 of them which now about to be 4. I don't need anymore. MY goal was to spread out my monthly expenses on the cards and do automatic PIF for the next year in hopes of showing good history and score increase. The only issue now are the low limits which I understand why, but it seems that BoA will be the one card that won't be as easy to have them increase limit. My expenses are well above what CLs I have. The cash rewards for the Freedom card seem to be a bit more work, although 5% is nice. The cash rewards for. BoA are quick and easy to acces...not worrying about remembering to activate. The only thing I'm not familiar with are the Capital One cards.

Ok, I need to hear all the good and the bad with both cards. I was on the fence with getting credit cards through Capital One again becuase eons ago their customer service was not so great and they would not work with me during hard times. But so far it seems things have changed and I hope so.

I would like to read everyone's experience with them, please!

I have both the MC and Visa versions. The MC I've had since Nov 2014. It started with a 2k limit. $39 AF. They gave me an ADDITIONAL 2k limit so now I'm up to 4k (in only 5 months. Still shocked and it was an AUTO increase). I tried to have the $39 fee waived permanently through their chat but they said its in my terms and aggrement so they can't remove it. Others seem to have had success in removing their fee. I am still going to keep the card. It has 1.5% cash back which reports in a few days which I love. You can use that money anytime you want. They can do a statement credit or give you a check sent through the mail. The card looks cheap. The numbers and your name are etched on, not stamped like most cards and mines don't have an emv chip.

My Visa version is similar except it has the chip and your name and credit numbers are stamped into the card. Personally I think the Visa version looks better. There also is no AF so that's nice. My starting limit is 3k and I've only had the card 2 weeks. If you get approved 5k or above the card will be a visa signature. Oh I also get a $100 cash back if I spend $500 in the first 3 months.

I never had any issues with cap1. I've been on and off with them since 2006 but I'm here to stay now. I don't call them much but when I do their customer service is pretty good to me. That's really all I can say about the qs cards personally. YMMV.

He's right though, there are a lot of opinions on these forums regarding Capital One, but I can tell you they have been very good to me. Started out with a credit steps platinum card two years ago with a $300CL. Have upgraded that to a $4K QS1 with the AF permanently waived in 18 months. Also have a 2nd QS1 with them that started with a $2K limit that has been upgraded to a $6K QS WMC in a year. With Capital One, the EO is your friend...don't be afraid to email them!

I just removed a post that was absolutely unnecessary and added nothing to the discussion.

If anyone finds it "tedious" to respond to a question then my suggestion is to move along to the next thread and keep your comments to yourself.

Disrespectful posts will not be tolerated.

What's disrespectful about that? Thanks for morphing into the same thing Flyertalk has become. 80% of the posts on this board don't add anything, it's either repetition of existing answers or "congrats". What's the value in that?
