No, I don't believe so... I don't have the card personally but know alot about it, with the exception of that.. The reason I say no is someone in their 20's can't qualify for AARP and they get the card without the AARP # since they aren't eligable.. Just seems to make sense to me.. It is different then say the marriott or ritz where they create you an account if you don't have one.

You can join AARP at any age. I started getting their fliers at 25 years old. All you have to do is pay the membership fee.

That said, I'm not a member, and I have the AARP Chase card.

Most places that give senior discounts, you have to ask for the senior discount. and then you have to be a certain age to qualify.

In other words, you have to prove your age, because different places require different ages. Could be 50+, could be 65+. My local metro busses give a senior discount at 65, and I could flash an AARP card all I want and that wouldn't get me anywhere...

Doesn't AARP membership mainly give you benefits FROM AARP.IE, they sell AARP health insurance, auto insurance, home insurance, etc. You could probably call your existing insurance agent and ask when the senior discount rates are, and who knows they might be just as good or better.
