+1 to what others said, and also, you can do your 3X CLI upon activation, assuming your credit profile would support it.

I always PIF before doing a CLI. Doubt if it ever made a difference, but I did so because I was able too.

Hi Amex pros,

I recently acquired a BCE card-4K and Everyday card-5.5k card from Amex.

I know Amex is famous for only increasing 1 revolver limit early on... So which card should I push for 3xCLI??? And do I need to wait the old fashioned 60 days or does Amex overlook that now? Also should all Amex balences report 0 at time of CLI?

Lastly what is Amex's process for CLI???

Thank you!

I'd go with the Everyday, larger starting limit. But that's just me.

The answer is pretty simple. Go for a CLI on whichever card you feel you'll get more use out of.

1.- Whatever card you will use the most so you have lower util if CLI is granted. If you will use both the same, then go for the ED to have a larger increase

2.- You don't need to wait 61 days. They will check your last SP and decide with it. If they deny your request then you have to wait 90 days to try again.

3.- Your balance do not have to be at $0, some people do prefer to show a $0 balance when they ask for CLI

4.- Login at amex site and clic the request credit line increase. It depends if you have the new web design or the old. With the new you can clic Profile - Credit Management - Increase Line of Credit. With the previous design, you can clic 'Available Credit' then 'Request Credit Line Increase' from the pop-up window

Good luck
