CU Credit Cards - Is Checking Account Required?

Hey,

In order to land a line of credit, does one have to have a checking account with a credit union? Or will they also offer opportunities to those who choose savings accounts? I don't really need another checking account but I would love to build a relationship and establish credit with them over time.

Shared Account (savings) is required.

right a share account is required to become a member of a cu. one of my cu's actually requires you to qual for a loc to obtain check card privelages for a share draft (checking) account.

Thanks. I have no need for another checking (have personal and business with BoA)
and I just want to build a relationship. Have one baddie on EQ (will move off 2/09) and 658 without an update on my cc payment. So hopefully next year I can hit 700 and have a shot
