Just got my EMV/Chip Quicksilver card

Definitely MUCH better craftsmanship than the old QS. I'm heading to Ukraine in a month and asked for one on Chat. Got is 6 days later.

WOW...I asked for one due to upcoming travel to Europe and was told no way. The said they would ship them when they are available...sometime this year.

Well that's just lovely for you. I just got my platinum upgraded to a QS1, and I berated them on chat for sending me a new card without the EMV chip.

Well technically they have not promised anyone a specific date (as far as I know), and realistically they are not going to be in any huge rush to do it other than to do it before the liability shift (which is what - October?). It's still roughly 6 months away.

It'd be different if we all had all chip cards and were using them constantly but in the US, chip has really not even been enabled yet most places. I understand the dilemma for overseas travel, but "berating" them for not sending you something they have not promised to have available yet is a bit much IMO.

I was annoyed because I have several recurring payments that I run through my cards- things that will now need to be updated twice, because they could send me a newer card, but chose not to. I can understand delaying the replacement of existing cards, but this was a new one.

They recently upgraded my QS1 to a QS WMC and I didn't have to update anything. The only thing that changed was the logo on the card. They might do the same thing when they get around to replacing everyone's cards with chipped cards.

Technically. No. it does not matter. But if you want to know. its really just about acceptance. in Asia. MasterCard Rules.

Europe or US. Does not matter at all. but if you want to know the difference.

If you have Visa Version. You applied and that is what you got.

If you have MasterCard Version. You were upgraded to the No AF QuickSilver. meaning your Limit was also raised to bare minimum 3K. or more.

as in my Case. was upgraded to Quicksilver no AF version. from 500dollars started to 3500 increase. i guest they did not want me to leave em in the dust. hope you got it now.

Not you. The other member aardvard. He said as if just went and asked for it. On replacements. There is nott option to just replace it. Now if they just send it. That's another story. But I'm not gonna ask for replacement. And get what I have already by happen stance. Good for you. I did that is my only none emv card. So no big deal.

This may sound stupid but I ordered a replacement card when I saw the image of my QS changed from the normal version to the EMV version. After ordering I chatted with an agent and he assured me the replacement would be an EMV one.

It's not stupid at all. People have been requesting them as soon as their picture changes.
