BBVA NBA Account Suspended!

I'll eat my words!! Went to make my first charge at Ralph's for $293. DENIED! Called the idiots at BBVA and all he said is "your account is under review and charging is suspended". I asked for a Manager and "there isn't one for this Department, they'll be in tomorrow morning." I just activated it yesterday (Wednesday), no clue why they couldn't mention something then.

Fortunately my REAL Amex SPG bailed me out.

Well that's an interesting turn of events. So you would be card #2. Sorry to hear B!! So, see if you can get to the bottom of things tomorrow. I haven't had any issues (knock on wood) on mine.

Well, on the upside, it's suspended, not closed. Still not pleasant by any means.

For the sake of science, and not that this would quantify overall results as a whole, I'll take it as a daily driver and see. I haven't seen anything from One7 or Mia25 or even any of the others with the same "suspended" issue.

Agreed... I used mine today and everything was fine... But this turn of events is NOT good.

Starting to believe I dodged not just a bullet with my denial, but a swarm of hellfire missiles. Funny thing is there were two negative accounts that weren't supposed to be on my EX report when I applied and was denied, literally three days later those accounts were removed. I called back in to see if they would reconsider and was told I'd have to submit a request in writing or just apply again. No thanks.

Heh. Everybody else's cards seem to be working fine so it's a matter of finding out what is causing the recent 2 suspensions. Note, B335 didn't say closed, but still perplexing.

OCCU at least let me make a charge. Maybe if this POS doesn't pass their crack team review I can fight to not let it report.

$300 is a pretty typical grocery bill for me. I eat a ton of meat (like a few pounds per day).

That is odd. But, yeah if this is not resolved to your satisfaction or they provide unsubstantiated reasons, see what you can do to have it removed, including the HP.

I wish you luck! I almost applied for this card, then I called the CSR's to inquire which bereau they might pull and when the guy had no idea what I was talking about, I said "thanks" and moved right along...

I doubt its anything crazy, B - probably just a verification issue that slipped through the cracks.

$300 in meat? so you bought 5 steaks at Whole Foods?

I will Finstar. The cashier even said "sweet card where'd you get it?" Then it declined and said yeah it's pretty sweet huh. I think that's why I'm really not as mad about it as it may appear.

oh NO!!!! ugh!! this isnt good at all.....

I predict several of these posts coming, after they have "reviewed" the approvals again. This is really disappointing!! Im so sorry to hear that B!! PLease keep us posted on what you find out, ;(

This is reminding me a little of the Duck and Diners. A few did survive the cards being intact from that, but several got clipped.
