As TNWM said, if they are your only 2 TLs I would not combine.

I did combine my Orchards several months ago. One was $2k with a high APR and an AF, the other was $2.5k with 2% CB and no AF. Now I have 1 Orchard, $4.5k, 2% CB, no annual fee.

They mailed a form for the combine request, not guaranteeing that I'd keep the total CLs. I did not care if I lost some of the CL as I've gotten CLIs and a new BoA card recently. No more AF for me. Thankfully I kept the total CL.

They did not pull a hard INQ to combine.

GL

Hi there,

I have an Orchard Bank MC with a $400 CL (just bumped up $100 after 3 years of EXCELLENT HISTORY) and a HSBC 2% MC with a $500 CL. I tried to combine these last week, but was told that I couldn't do so unless a hard pull was placed and I was approved for the combined CL. Is this true?

How does combining credit cards really work?

Anderson - what steps did you take?

I just never heard of that process before, and I have an HSBC Mastercard with 2000 CL and an Orchard with 950, I would love to combine both, they have the same interest rate 14.99

but Orchard has an annual fee and HSBC card does not? would that factor in play

I called Orchard Bank, or HSBC backdoor number

800-694-9222 and they indicated that my other HSBC card falls under a different portfolia so they can cannot combine it, which is crap cause both cards indicated HSBC Bank of Nevada on the bank, and its the same inquiry on my credit report when I first applied a year ago

so i need some advice, should I call a different number or call with the other card and ask for orchard to be added

thanks everyone

Thank you,

I just had some success, thanks to Timothy as well the MOD for answering my private messages

REP at Orchard told me that I they will mail a letter to consolidate one of the credit cards Orchard (annual fee) into the HSBC mastercard with the higher limit and no annual fee

in addition, she said that since I have an excellent payment history on both accounts, and they are a combined credit of less than 5000 dollars, that I will be getting at least combined credit which is really

2000 on HSBC and 950 on Orchard

Interestingly enough, she asked for monthly gross income, and indicated that a credit report will be checked but no Hard Inquiries since I had no issues or late payments on either account
