Possible to pay CC bill with prepaid debit?

A few weeks ago I purchased a set of Pirelli tires from Tirerack.com, I received a $60 Visa debit card today as part of the promo they were running at the time. I called in to Cap 1 to see if I could use to pay some of my balance but she said she could only run the card as debit, not credit, and it wouldn't take.

Is there any way to do this?

Go to Walmart, have them unload the card, deposit in your bank account. Boom. For situations like this I use my Square reader

What do you mean unload the card? I've never heard of that.

Like have them take all the money off the card and give you cash. It's like $3

Or if you have Bluebird (Walmart) or Redbird (Target) you can simply load those cards with the debit card and get all the money. But even if not, much cheaper to use it to buy a money order a walmart, this should cost 80c or less.

Hehe, I know what unload means, I meant how do you do it? You just go to a cashier and ask for this, customer service desk?

Turns out Walmart doesn't unload the kind of Visa debit card Pirelli sent out Oh well, I know I can use it to pay my cell phone bill and the amount is almost exactly what that bill is so I'll just use it for that.

Wow that sucks. They unloaded my prepaid T-Mobile card. Probably something weird with the card itself
