Good Bye Credit One

I have been reading so many things on this forum, and decided to close my credit one card even though I just got it. Transferred the small balance to my capital one card and soon as it post GOODBYE!! I'm sure many will be proud of me!

You will be so happy to get rid of this card! The jerks will still add interest daily, so make sure when you close the account that you have paid off all the interest.

Don't close it just because of other peoples' mistakes. Lots of people complain about Credit One but it's almost always their own fault. Credit One is great for rebuilding. They are upfront about their fees and rates. If you're truly serious about rebuilding your credit Credit One is a godsend. I know; I'm proof. I had crap credit until about 5 years ago. Credit One took a chance on me and now I'm sitting pretty in the 800 club.

Good move ..I still have mine open ..I hardly use my 750 limit and my AF is 9.95 . I have 15 cards and I want to close it when my over all UTL goes under 10% . Now I'm at 11% so its a matter of time ..

Good job. I dumped mine last month as well, the one thing that really got to me, besides the annual fee billed monthly, the charge for a low CLI, interest immediate, pay extra for express pay, was that you couldn't make multiple payment's per month. I got around that by deliberately making several smaller payments from my CU bill pay and once posted I repeated until the balance was 0.

I closed mine last week via phone after paying off the balance, and requested they send me a letter stating it was closed. The letter says my balance has a 36 cent credit, and they said this: 'Our records reflect your account is C21". Is that code for closed or what?

Not sure. It could mean their printer is broken.

Keep an eye on your reports for the next month or two.

Yeah, I will. I swear I paid EXACTLY what my balance was. No idea why there's a credit. That better not be a sneaky way for them to keep it open and keep charging me those monthly fees. I've got the CS calls recorded, but that probably won't do me any good with a company like Credit One.
