credit one pre approval?

So I got a pre-approval letter in the mail from credit-one. I am tryin to rebuild, only have one open secured CC (CL $200) and have been turned down for every cc i've applied. How often are "pre-approvals" actually approvals? If I do "accept" the card and they deny it, is it easier to get pushed through the ranks than a normal app? I've recently decided credit is the devil. THE DEVIL I SAY!

i got credit one after my bk with no pre approval.

my friend got pre approval and was declined!

not sure what that means.

Yeah that's exactly what i'm worried about. One more decline and i'm gonna blow my CR up. lol

i just think they want to see atleast 1 other good account. your in the 600's you should be fine.

i mean they are not that much higher up the chain than say cortrust, but CLI are better and customer service seems to be pretty good... just not sure how much longer i will justify the $6 month, unless they raise my limit another 200

just kidding, just called and I was at 5 months since last increase but they gave me another $100!!!

I know hardly seems exciting but it now is my highest cl SINCE bk not including accounts not included in bk.

$550 is CL now. have had the card since 10-07

That's not too bad of a deal. I'd take a $550 CL. I'd take ANY credit limit right now.

I never heard of Credit One until I read this post. I applied and was approved. The CL is only $250 but, it is a place to start.

people use to post they got a cli after first payment. I didn't get that, but did get $150 at 6 months, and then just got the $100 more i posted earlier at month 11. started at $300.

Your scores are much higher than mine. I also have 3 CO, one from Cap One, on my CR. You should be able to get a card.

I just got approved with the scores in my signature. The line was only $200 but at this time I have extensive baddies on my cr's although no lates in the past year.

Hi, just watch out I had several pre-approval offers for credit-one coming to my house as I am also through the rebuilding phase. I waited for a while because i was hesitant but when I finally applied I was DENIED and my scores were in the low 600's at the time. So to say pre-approvals are not always approvals. It was a wasted inquiry but better for me not obtaining a high fee credit card. Good Luck if you really want this card.

Pre-Approvals never mean guaranteed approval, but in my opinion, Credit One is a fairly easy approval and a very good rebuilder card. I had them for years with no complaints. Generally speaking, scores in the low 600's should get approval from them and they'll grow with you (at least a little bit).

Yeah i'm not too fond of the rate, and not fond of the fees ($69 annual, $69 activation) but when you've gotten declined by every other "easy approval" card you kinda take what you can get. I'm gonna call today, I think, and see what they can do. Wish me luck!

They were my second rebuilder in 12/06. Started at $250. Auto CLI to $450 after a few months. Called later and got $550 with no charge.

I've posted about whether to drop them. I have this hangup about having two full years of payment history first.

I called them up last month to ask for waiver of fee, or at least a way to pre-pay the fee. The auto message said press # for a credit line increase. OK. <push>. Congratulations, you now have $650!

Aww nuts! I'll just stay. So I hung up after that message.

I still mail the $5.75 from the Post Office the day I get the bill.

credit one is a good sub-prime credit card. With your score they will approve you.

Pre-approval does not mean you will get final approval. If you read the fine print it will tell you the same thing. I try not to apply for things I know I can not get. Right now sub-prime is my only option. Some are better than others but, still sub-prime.
