Can't get preapproved for anything! What gives?

Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I have been working on my fico scores in preperation for a app spree. I had a CH7 dischared about 5 years ago, and a 30 day (by 1 day) with ALLY now 18 months old.

Current credit cards - Cap One Plat 2k of 4.5k, Discount Tire/ Synch 1.2k of 2.9k, Kay Jewelers 2k of 7.5k, Dillards 0 of 1k. Also reporting is a rebuilder First National CC 550 of 1.3k. This card is actually paid off and closed as of 3 weeks ago, just waiting for it to report in the next few days. I'm hoping this gives me a boost.

Current Ficos (4/1/15) TU 690, EQ 679, EX 681

I have used the prequal links for Cap 1, AMEX and BofA with no luck. Should I wait to app at this point? I planed on waiting until the FNCC updates in the next few days, but after that should I continue to wait?

Have you opted out at any point in the past? That'll keep you from getting preapprovals.

Did you burn any of those companies in bankruptcy? If so, they might have perma-banned you. You'll have to go over to the rebuilding credit forum to see if you can get back in their good graces.

I've opted back in twice now for pre-approvals and still nothing works.

I get no pre approvls either. All of my apps have been cold apps and I have been approved except for two.

It'll take time. The problem with preapprovals is that they do not SP you on the spot, they rely on their latest SP. Give it a month or so and you should have a data point with some of the banks.

I opted out awhile ago and that worked, opted in a few times and that doesn't seem to work as smoothly

I've never had a preapproval for any card, but I'm doing just fine. I think my husband signed us both up to "Opt out", I tried opting back in to no effect, so I put it back. No point to changing it for me.

I have many many many cards, good income, same addresss for 6 years, good ficos, and i over the years i only have received mailers for barclays rewards 1000s of them, citi AA card although they hate me, and first premier crap: granted some people hate all the junk mail, id take it for novelty sake lol. Was at a friends the other day and he checked his mail and had like 8 offers from citi discover cap1 etc. he also only has a few cards. But who knows

I never got pre qualified from boa chase or cap1 too. But that doesn't mean you won't get approved. Your score is good enough for prime cards. Try Chase

Pulled the trigger on a Barclay Apple Card app just now. Got the 7-10 days message. Hmm. Maybe I'll wait for a few more things to update before I try anything else.

So apparently like you all said, the electronic prequals aren't great. I reconned with Barclay to find out that I burned them once and forgot. I applyed for 2 capital one cards, 2 AMEX cards, a Nordstroms card and a PenFed card. Approved for all of them!! Limits in sig I love this board!

You have good scores and looks like you have good cards...how many inq you have???...prequals never worked for me but i would still get approved for certain ones even if they didnt show up so i think some internal systems are messed up i dunno lol
