Amex BCE promo - related to TE end?

Hey everyone just received a BCE promo pre approval with a $200 cash back offer with 1k spend, 15 months of 0%, and a following rate of 12.99.

I currently have costco TE as my only amex revolver with a 25k limit. I have had zync charge since 10 and member since date from 03. I just got the BRG in March and quickly hit the 5k spend for 75k MR.

So about as soon as I hit the spend on the BRG the BCE mailer showed up.

I have a feeling the BCE is what they want current TE holders to transition to and this offer might be related. Maybe it is TE holders who don't hold another revolver?

Has anyone else seen this promo in your mailbox and currently hold a TE?

I think I will apply, how is amex with 2nd revolver limits with the 1st holding large CL?

Any input appreciated.

I hope they come up with a decent replacement for the TE. Hell, I hope they have a better plan to retain current TE cardholders than just offeringg them a BCE.

I've been trying to keep up with this, but i do believe it is pertaining to the TE. I know Amex is done with backdating, but I heard (Amex supervisor) they will backdate for TE card holders. I would speak with EO and apply that way. Ive been waiting for the mail offer, however I do believe you can inquire about the BCP as well. if it suits you and you spend heavy on groceries and get that 6% that's the way to go. I can Imagine they back date your card BCE, then next year Costco will buy the portfolio of the TE and fit you into a Citi bank card without you doing anything, and i heard they will also backdate the citi visa TE. I'm just hearing things....I work for Costco.. that is all.

Racer.. I'm a costco addict, so hopefully it works out as you say. Thanks for the hint on applying through EO. I will call tomorrow and poke around for some answers on backdating.

Anyone else with this offer please chime in.

Yup, I have TE card too , and got the same offer. Last week via email , and this week in the mail. Very enticing offer for $200 reward dollars. Work for costco too, was told by a regional last week that more information about the transition will be announced in October.

I'm with you. The BCE isn't enticing at all. I'm hoping that some of the random reports of people getting confidential surveys designed to guage their response to a potential new cashback product (one that is better than BCE and an upgrade from the TE) is an indicator that something is in the works that will ultimately replace the TE card. Sign-up bonues are nice, but I don't want to be left with a card that I will have no inclination to use after I've met the bonus requirements.

I have the TE but have not received this offer. However, I have a BCP and no interest in the BCE anyway.

I called in and said I received the mailer, agent immediately said ohh you must be an existing TE card holder, this is a targeted offer.

Applied, had to call back after to give EX pin since it was frozen, approved for 10.6k limit and cards overnighted. Not sure if they will backdate on credit report. Will amex report to EX right away or at 1st statement?

I just got my BCE recently because I wanted another AMEX before the TE was gone --- Unfortionately I now miss out on an easy $200 bonus for being proactive and I still missed the backdating cut-off date ... ugh.
