Who does express pull and is the card worth it if you shop there a lot?

I've heard it's EX (might want to google Credit Pulls Database); but try the Shopping Cart Trick first!

It does seem to be worth it if you're a big Express shopper (I've considered it since I LOVE Express but I still regret my VS card) since they do give out a lot of coupons and discounts.

I should of got one when I used to work there bc the one where I live closed a few months ago

I received an offer in the mail to apply. Used the code given and it was only a SP. I have two other Comenity accounts so I guess that's how I got it. The card is worth it if you shop Express. I really like their Essential Shirt for work.

It didn't take me long to rack up points and get upgraded to the A-List store card. Keep trying for the pop-up. They are slow to grow CLs that I wouldn't take a HP for it. I'm at 6 months and they still want me to show history on the card before a CLI. I think 9 months is the magic number. Good luck on whatever you decide!

They pull Equifax as far as I have read and from my own experience and 3 family members as well.

If you shop there alot it may be worth the HP if you haven't gotten the popup yet.

From your card lineup in your sig, it doesn't look like that EQ inquiry will be used for anything else exciting anytime soon. What credit card are you saving up that EQ inquiry for?

Yes I took a HP for this card, and I love it. The numerous coupons I receive in the mail. I save so much money with their coupons. I just did not like the starting limit of 250 but it has recently grew.

IMO this is the worst comenity card when it comes to CLI's. All their other cards are 5x to 10x what this card has grown to and this was my first card with them.

I'm not saving it for anything. Just don't to app for anything if it's not worth it. I already have 2 store cards, but I love express and shop there a lot so I was wondering.

You won't get a CLI for at least 6 months but it's common for Express to start with a $500 or $750 for people with 650+ scores. $250 if you're under 650. My Express started at $500...always denied a CLI until the 6th month. I got $250, then the following month another $250.

So yes, if you BUY stuff from there often, it does save you quite a bit of cash....especially at their prices.

My only bad experience with a card issuer is with the Express card. I closed the card because I wasn't going to be shopping there anymore. First off, they only gave me a $180 CL, and my income at the time was over $100k and credit scores right under 700. I closed the card, and got something in the mail showing $0 balance. This was in 2012. A year ago I get a letter in the mail that the account is in collections and I owe them $360 for the account with late fees etc. I wasn't as concerned about my credit as I am now, and I just paid it without disputing it since it was such a small amount and I didn't want it going on my credit report. It turns out the card is actually showing as a charge off on my credit report. They said my last bill wasn't paid in full and I owed them $.79 which the ballooned. I'm still disputing it, and at this point I think it's lowering my score by at least 60-80 points and will be till almost 2020. Frustrating.

I'd avoid this one honestly unless you shop there a lot. The limits are always extremely low. If you want Comenity stuff, you're better off getting Overstock, J Crew, Total Rewards, or Sportsmanguide. All of those can actually grow quite a lot. At least if you get preapproval for this one, it's just a SP.

Not sure if you decided to try again for this card, but I had to update my experienc since my previous poste. I went from a $350 starting CL to $750 after hitting the luv button twice the other day. So 6 months is the right timeframe to begin seeing some growth. I'll hit it again next month to see what happens.

I just closed mine on Tuesday. I was stuck at $650 for 18 months. But I did start at $250 and grew in like 6 months, but then that was it. My VS is growing nicely though. It grew from $250 to $650 (opened same day as Express - they grew on the same days using luv button), but this past Christmas season I got an email from VS with a $500 CLI out of nowhere. That was cool. They just gave me another $200 a couple of days ago (after closing NY&Co, Express, Lane Bryant, and Blue Nile cards on Tuesday).

So long story short, YMMV, but they can be consistent.

I personally love mine. I was in the 500s when I got it and it has helped me get everything from a new auto loan to unsecured cards. I actually started shopping there because of the card and it has been well worth it. I bought nearly $300 worth of sweaters for less than $100 using the coupons they send.

In terms of growth ...I started 6/2015 with a $250 limit and as of 5/2015 ...I'm at $1050. I've gotten CLIs via the luv button once a month with no issue...even though the card balance has been paid off.

I say ...if you are in the midst of a rebuild or trying to improve...this card is great!
