I agree with smallfry, it probably is too soon. Although, I've had as many as 3 CLIs with BOA within a few month time frame. However, I have a long history with them and I PIF. It definitely doesn't hurt to wait a few more months but yes, I would call.

Message Edited by Uncle_Money on 09-06-2008 03:45 PM

When was last time?

Doesn't necessarily mean a decline, but keep in mind CLIs with BOA are usually instant. I would call in and speak to an analyst. I personally have found this to be beneficial. Of course, YMMV and the increase will depend on your personal factors.

Have you been using the card a lot and paying in full every month? It is getting a little tighter out there little by little. Maybe they want to see another six months history. When did you get the card originally?

I would say the most recent response likely would be a decline. The only action they have seen is a BT and some smallish payments from you? I would say you have done extremely well with them under those circumstances. It won't hurt to recon if you do get a decline though. If you are not successful on recon I would avoid the CLI button for 6 months.

This is getting to be a dangerous climate for those trying to grow limits. Some have had their lines decreased. Careful out there.

It is a decline. If you call them they are going to tell you that the account is new and you've alreadys gotten a CLI. They will want you to wait six more months before requesting a CLI again. I would not call them unless you want about an 80% chance of having to listen to a bunch of crap that will confuse and irritate you. Just wait.

I'd call them. They declined me for two CLI on seperate cards last week. I did a BT yesterday and asked for more credit to help with my util. They said that they couldn't because the card was too new (just got the card in the mail Saturday). I had already been given an increase on this card from $1500 to $3000.00 (and tried again for 5K, which was one of the denials). They looked at my other account and said they could not approve a CLI, but to call and speak to a credit analyst today. I didn't get around to calling, but tonight I logged in my online banking with BOA and my older BOA credit card had been increased from $1000.00 to $2500.00. So I think they must reconsider some requests(though I did do a BT, so maybe that helped).

After reading this thread, I pushed the luv button on Sunday, for the first time in my life. I had never asked for CLI for any cards I have.

One of my BOA cards has $2600 CL and I thought it was too low. After pushing the luv button, I remember I got a message like this: If approved, new CL will be shown on my account page online in a couple of days. I checked the account info at 9pm on Tuesday and there is not change. I asked for $5000. I have been carrying the card for 5 years.

I guess, this is a decline, correct?
