Called tonight after not getting 'instant approval' the other day, was told here I should expect $5k. Wrong. *$10k*!!! My BTs of $1k and $500 were approved as well, to-tally pysched. Not curious to see what Cabelas, who also approved me, same CRA pull, approves me for.

Who is Partners First and how difficult are they to get. Any ideas who they pull in Kentucky? Criteria?

PartnersFirst is a division of the Western Alliance Bank Corporation.

That seems to be an association of multiple banks throughout Nevada, California,Colorado and Arizona. They state the have over 5 billion in assets.

They seem to have quite a few affinity CC's when you visit their website.

Kind of known as 'oddball' cards. Some say oddballs are a good mix in your credit file, but I'm not sure why.

They will also give out higher limits at times... Be careful though... I had only seen EQ pulls in any thread or credit pull database but they pulled TU as well for me (thin file?)

I still had a bad mark on TU then so I was denied... It has since gone away and will try again in a couple months.

Did they pull your TU upon request since they seem to pull EQ? What were your scores like when you were declined? Do you have any baddies, i.e., BK, lates, collections, charge offs, lots of new accounts & inquires?

That said, Adam, my pull was EQ only. I know this for sure.

In my case... the denial came in the form of a letter... The TU pull was NOT at my request and if they would have pulled it 3 days later, it too would have been clean... bad timing, but do be prepared for an extra pull from TU besides the normal EQ pull.

I will wait a few months an dtry again...

after success with Cabelas, decided to try this also. didn't get instant and tried calling the number it gave me and she said I would hear in 7-10 days but she also didn't understand what I was asking about doing manual underwriting over the phone.

I just don't understand how some people get jobs in credit and have no idea what credit means!
