Amex Backdating Success (Apr/May '15) :)

I was approved for my second ever Amex card a little while ago, and although I'd read the "Amex not backdating anymore" thread, I decided to just ask since there was really nothing to lose (I originally called to ask for an increased CL/SL on the new card, but was told I couldn't do it because I'd gotten one on my old card within the past 6 months). Anyway, the CSR wasn't sure what that meant, but agreed to take a request to forward to the appropriate department. My first statement cut last week, and I just noticed the new card is reporting with an older date on the credit report! I'm thrilled! This is going to boost my scores quite a bit!

Can we see a screenshot of this if you don't mind? Current reports are it is DEAD so this very interesting... Congrats on the MSD though...

What card, what date were you approved and a screenshot of the credit report would be nice.

I bet they backdated in their system but as far as reporting to the CRAs it wont be.

Yes, curious minds would like to see how/what it shows on CRAs. Or, as Nixon or CreditCuriousity would say... screenshot or it didn't happen!

Agreed. That's the key part. Maybe the backdating thing was relaxed. Or, OP got very, very, very lucky.

OP -- Please answer the following questions:

* Which card is it?

* On which date did you activate your second Amex card?

* Does the second Amex report on all 3 credit bureaus as backdated?

* What Month & Year is reporting your credit report for the second card?

I'll be watching this thread closely as well. My Amex PRG missed the cutoff by only a few days which kept it from being backdated to 1980 ! That would give me a huge bump in AAoA which is one of the reasons I applied for the card to begin with (I already had the EDP). Thanks for the heads up OP !!

Same here. I think 9 days to be exact. (would be 1987)

Silence says a lot. I would suggest to everyone not to run off and apply for Amex cards based on this post thinking that you're going to be backdated. If it was happening then it would be reported elsewhere and it's not.

I would be apping for the PRG today if I can see proof of this.. Otherwise nope.. I think Amex would have about every MyFico member applying for an Amex even the Plenti(well this might be a strectch) if this was true
