Can't PC Chase Sapphire Preferred

I've seen of people changing to other cards in previous threads, any luck recently? I wanted to change mine to a Freedom but I was told my account isn't eligible and that I could apply for one but that their new policy is not to approve applications for a product you already have. I'm not sure what to do, I do already have a Freedom so I won't be applying I just wanted to PC. Looks like I might end up closing it. Which I didn't want to do.

I PC'd mine to CS.

CS can be PC'd to Freedom from what i've read.

How about you downgrade to Sapphire with no AF then reallocate CL to Freedom? However, I can't see why you wouldn't want to keep the CSP with the ability to transfer points to partners 1:1, especially when you can transfer points from Freedom to CSP then to the REST OF THE WORLD my $.02

I don't use it that much so I don't feel it justifies the annual fee.
