NASA MEMBERSHIP AND CC

I am looking into becoming a member to NASA. I know I can join national space society and become a member. IS that waht you did? Also did you apply for the CC right after acceptance to NASA?

Yes to both questions. I was approved for a CL of $9400. I don't know the APR yet since I haven't received the card in the mail yet.

Was it a complimentary membership or did you have to pay to join the NSS?

Id do some NASA research lst....denials left and right, crappy customer service, 2-3 wks to get an answer, no reconnability, thin file sensitive, thick file sensitive, good credit sensitive, bad credit sensitive...who knows...

@racer-x are you still with NASA if so check your email. They sent me a survey today to rate them on products and services. My experience was totally different from yours. Check your email so you can send them the feedback they need to improve.

I got a survey from them today too. I've only had a good experience.

I app'ed for in Sep 2014 for membership--immediate approval. I then was pre-approved for CC right after membership--immediate approval $25K.

I have nothing but good experiences with NASA. Their CS via online chat has been super helpful.

Lots of posts on here about NASA. Do a quick search and you'll find a wealth of info.

I still have my shares account or whatever it's called. No emails for me, just the recon denial letter.

I was denied for " Too many open/revolving accounts and/or borrowing capacity". I don't have too many inq's, my credit age is good, clean report, $100k income, no lates, no BK's, 14% utiliz.....EX score 717-729.....I can see why I'm a risk. lol.

It took them almost 3 wks and two letters from me, before they got back to me.....and they close at 4:15...w t frigidaire

Apparently they only send survey letters to approvees....makes sense. Why ask for positive feedback from whom you denied credit to.

And your score is probably 8000+, a million dollar income, .0001% utilization, 47 yr AAoA....

You gotta list your stats so everybodys circumstances can be held in context.

@Anonymous the survey was so long and I'm so new to them (NASA) I just was like I will finish before the due date. Yes they extended me credit and I am grateful but PenFed beat their rates hands down!! So I really don't know how to respond to the survey. The survey was very long. I was honest though and said I do most of my banking elsewhere. I said they need to get better OLB/MB.

Have you done the survey? I just completed it, one of the more poorly designed ones I've seen for quite a while!

a) Too many questions per page (and way too many questions in general)

b) Selecting from pull downs, radio buttons are easier and more standard

c) Intermediate screens thanking you for answering the questions about NASA FCU, press Next to ..... Not really helpful as they don't give any information, we know to press next to continue....

But maybe I am too fussy!

ETA: I see while I was doing the survey others already posted about how long it was!

I will wait until I get closer to 700. I just want another card with a big limit. I recenly received a PSECU CC with a 20k limite and a PSL with 20k.

That's probably a good call, they'll just hurt your feelings like they did mine. lol......I have nearly $200k in CL's, average accouunt $10k...but NASA wouldn't play.
