It takes about 3 weeks but if it is legit, you will get your money back. For example, on my BCP I ordered a case of wine during the holidays during a promo offered on Travelzoo.

The wine never came but money taken. I initially tried to get the money but Travelzoo was telling me to call the wine company and the wine company telling me to call Travelzoo. I reached out to Amex about what happen, forwarded receipts and everything and Amex gave me the money back.

So don't worry..

Well got a "card not present" alert for an unauthorized charge on my Amex today, for close to $300. This was my only fraud experience besides a small one (under $10) on my Quicksilver last year. I'm surprised at the difference between Cap1 and Amex as far as fraud security measures. Amex CSR said wait until the charge posts, then dispute it, and that they didn't need to send a replacement card or new number unless I notice more fraudulent charges. Cap1 immediately cancelled the card, and sent a new card with new #. It bothers me to wait and "see if someone is using" the Amex card, like the rep advised. Should I call another CSR?

I personally would ask for a replacement card and #.. That is just me... I would also not wan to dispute the charges unless it has something to do with pending, but still...
