It's up to you to determine if the addtional bonus makes up for the AF. After doing the math assuming you only buy groceries, it would take $2,500 in grocery spend to make up the difference, everything beyond that is double the cash back.

Right but also compare it against other options, such as the Sallie Mae, which wins till the spend is $3900

A $250 monthly limit for gas and grocieres per month, a lower signup bonus ($25 vs $200) and loss of ability to PC in the future is also something to consider with Sallie Mae.

Right, lots of factors to consider, just saying it doesn't have to be BCP vs BCE. While there is a cap on gas, it is 5% vs 3%, and 5% on Amazon/bookstores might be more useful for some than 3% on select department stores, so pros and cons of each.

yeah this went off into left field for no reason. with that many inquiries and paying that negative only ten days ago and with the mid 600 scores i would hold off a few months. get your utilization at around 9% and it'll raise your score, your paid thing will show as paid and maybe an inquiry or two could fall off i say wait just a few months

underwriting is the same between the BCE and BCP

I want the BCP also and our EX scores are similar. My goal was to get my EX at least above 670 before attempting. You may have a chance though. But if those cards are from May 8th of this year, I would probably say garden for 6 months and then go for it. Barclays already probably reported but Cap1 can take up to 2 months. Also, if your inquiries are mostly from the 6-12 month part of the past year, that's much better as well. Not sure when you went car shopping.

Ultimately, you're probably going to get a lot of YMMV. But if you really want/need it, I say go for it and see if you get it. Otherwise, I'd wait 6 months and then app.

Hope this helps.
