Fidelity Amex

Saw a post earlier saying it can be used to load Serve. Moreover, it's a 2% card(with a CMA account). I am interested in this and the AARP(3% restaurants) for future apps. I recently got in with BofA.

Just finished googling posts about this card and they all, more or less, agree it's elusive. The underwriting is said to be extremely strict. I opened a Fidelity account earlier in preparation to apply months from now. Maybe March of 2016 when my inquiries on EX will be like 11.

Any other tips/stories Fidelity holders can share?

I have no baddies. I'll probably have a couple hundreds in my account by the time I app.

I reconned mine with tons of INQs an new accounts but I had a good relationship with BofA

It's always TU for me but it's actually FIA that's pulling it so they may be different. I know they pulled TU for the app an CLI

Well, that would be better as I have less on there and will have way less in March. Do you have huge savings in your CMA account?

Applied with clean reports and modest income, got them to pull TU. Account is 10 months old now CL is at 26500.

I want the secrets to cracking that bank and getting in.

I am a loyal Fidelity Amex user and was approved a few years ago when I had a relatively thin, but clean, file at the time (I did have prior history with FIA/BofA though, which might have helped) so I'm not sure the underwriting is THAT hard. When I signed up they didn't seem to care that I didn't have a Fidelity account as long as I set one up at sign-up. I was approved instantly online for $10K and somewhere down the road I applied for a CLI for $20K-- hard pull and approved over the phone.

It's a great card, I keep very little in my Fidelity brokerage account (I trade with TD) and basically just have it only for this card-- I've never had more than $1K in the account. I use my Fidelity pretty much whenever there's not a spend bonus, signup bonus, or other incentive on my other cards. The Citi Double Cash is comparable, with the advantage being that it's accepted more widely, and disadvantage being that they have a pretty big 3% foreign transaction fee (the Fidelity is 1%, although I prefer to travel with one of my no-fee cards)

I'd highly recommend it!

Looks like you have two Double Cash already, so you just want this for Serve? Be aware of the $50 min redemption so if that's all you put on it it would take some months. Not sure I would get a new card for such a small gain, particularly with the very volatile nature of the rules regarding Serve loads. But your call!

If you load at least $500, the $1 monthly fee is waived.

I have the softcard Serve(albeit google took over that).

No monthly fee.

But I know they changed some things recently.

You **might** be able to load up to $1500 per month (unless they've changed it)

I remember something about new fees and not being able to use non-Amex cards. Haven't been back to Serve since.
