CSP Bonus Point - Ideas on how to use them!

So after I got my CSP a few months ago, I finally got the 40000 bonus points on my most recent statement. From expenses and such, the total bonus points here is more like 49300, and I also have some 22000 points from my Freedom. I've never used these bonus points from them.

I'd appreciate inputs on how to get the best value from these points.

Best value is transfer to travel partners. Look at which ones would benefit you the most. I like british airways for short domestic flights, United for star alliance partners for international flights since the surcharges are fairly low, or hyatt hotels.

Flights are generally the highest value in terms of points per cent. But it all depends on what you need. Even though I know it's not the highest value I always use my points for cash back. I don't need miles or flights so for me cash has the highest value.

It comes down to what benefits you. You get the most value out of travel transfers, but if you don't have upcoming travel planned, that's not helpful (though it begs the question as to why have a CSP if you're redeeming for cash as you can do better with a free cash back card).

Anyway if no travel is planned, you can cash out. 40k points is $400.

I'm planning travel later this year, so I should probably save up these points for then

Amazon.com also looks like a pretty good deal!

Isnt Amazon just 1c per point? If so, may as well get cash

I thought it was higher than that, just checked. With 1c/point, might as well buy whatever you want and use the cash back!

I hope your not paying the AF for the CSP if that is the case. The card is of very limited value if you don't want to transfer to travel partners and there are a number of excellent cashback cards that would blow it out of the water. Some of them don't even have AFs.

with 50k UR points thats probaby at the very least two RT tickets to California. .

I saw some united flights in sept from detroit to jackson with some business/first saver availability (25k each way) Same for fresno CA. Some searching can find you an economy saver award and stretch those miles out though. Do some research and you'll be a points guy in no time

they are your points so use them how you see fit, but if you want best value then transferring to travel partners is the best way to go :-)
