are all sallie mae cards world mastercards?

i received my sallie mae card and it says "World MasterCard" on it ($2,500 limit) and i was reading the world mastercard benefits and it says like concierge services and all that jazz... i am confused some

No.

I got the regular Platinum with $3k CL in Dec 2013 and it was a Plat.

Even after crossing $5k they refused to give me an upgrade to World. It's at $8.5k now and still a Plat.

and i do understand you can get a World Elite MasterCard as well... i just mean are the at MINIMAL a world mastercard

I think I've seen WMC SMs down to $1000. However, the above post is the first I've heard of a nonWMC or higher SM

Mine started out at 2.5k as a platinum and it is now 5k and still a platinum.

Never heard of a WEMC Sallie Mae...anyone here have one?

I have World; approved initally for $2k. I wonder why some get World and others Platinum? Maybe credit worthiness; I have good credit but low income...I also got approved for the lowest APR 13.99%. For those with Plats, what are your APRs?

Pretty sure that you're correct that it does not come in a WEMC version

I initially got 20.99% that is now at 16.99%.

I was approved for $1k in January and it is a WMC. I had high income but very marginal scores and my utilization was out of wack as well. I was new to myFICO and charged up close to the limit each month, but then paid in full. Probably looked like 80% util at the time; I now still charge as much but pay prior to statement cut so my util is usually around 5% these days. LOVE the education I've gotten at myFICO.

Anyhow, I had scores in the low 600s, 80% util and was declined online. The very first thing I learned from myFICO was to call for recon. Got lucky with a great rep, explained a bit about the util, talked about my job & income and was approved for $1k. Knowing what I know now about credit, util, etc., I'm even more amazed that I was approved, but it was a WMC.

My Sallie Mae is at $12,000, my credit scores are all over 800, I have the lowest initial APR they offer ...... and it's still a Platinum.

It's all about Plat. Vendors are charged less fees.

i did some reading and most people say you should mainly get world if it's >$5k but a ton of people have under that and a world. i don't understand why i have a $2,500 world and some of you have $8-$12k platinums

Still don't believe I've used a single WMC benefit.

WMC is a crapshoot, so is Visa Signature lately. Used to be guidelines that were set in stone (well not in stone, but at least you would have the same answer from all creditors) 5K minimum CL, 6 month before you can ask, etc. From my understanding, now I just need to change my name to something more fierce; is 2015XTERROR taken? LOL
