Pre-Approved WalMart

I received a pre-approval for the WalMart card. It's just the store card, so I'm not sure if I want to take that jump for $500 minimum credit line on a store card.

I have QS, Venture, and Freedom cards. I think there is supposed to be a major bank version too. Has anyone received one of these in the mail and gotten the major bank card from it? Should I take the open invitation to pre-approval at all?

When I app'd I got the MC. I use it for the $.05 off per gallon of gas at their gas stations. Plus, CLIs are easy to obtain. CLIs are SPs. Good luck!!!

Does it give you an option....say maybe You're approved for both and you choose which one?

Do you know if you app for the MC, do they say "denied, but you're approved for the store card. I'm still rebuilding, so I also have to look out at my INQs

I guess I will. I've seen the CLI numbers from some folks calling the "number" and getting large numbers on WalMart. Thanks for the input!!

is there any reason to get this card? I have plenty of cards anything special here or usefull? Im about to shread my offer?

I haven't done it yet. I'm at work. The only thing that I can see it really helping with, is the gas rewards, 0% sometimes on purchases, and a larger CL that helps with scores and UTL. That would be the argument to skip the store card and only get the MC. You still get the rewards but also get the use of the card anywhere you need it.

I really want to get a BB card though. In with Citi and we are buying a house next year and will probably want to use the rewards there instead. I'm pretty new to getting offers on something other than Credit1 lol

Congrats! You will make progress quickly. The first 6 months were the worst for me when I added lots of new account. once those aged it was steady progress.

as for the card I shreadded it. I use Costco for gas. 2% Exec mem cash back and 3% TE amex cash back for a total of 5% on cheap high quality gas at costco.

I would cold apply for the mastercard since if they won't approve you for that you know you are pre-approved for the store so the app should just spit out approval on the store since it considers you for it if not the mc.
