My first late payment on a Barclay credit card.

I never missed a payment with any CC company until now. I missed a payment by just a few hours on a BT that I had carried on to them and I didnt realize due dates changed! I'm on a promo APR and I am now very worried about how this will affect my credit score and report and if I will be kicked out of the promo. What does Barclay do? Do they report right away? What steps should I take?

Call them. They should credit the late charge on the first ever ooops. No harm - no foul. You're not technically credit report late for an additional 30 days.

Yes, I would call them. And you're not late as far as the CRA's. I would get onto autopay. Even for the minimum. It's a lifesaver if you're busy & forget. I have all of mine set up that way just in case. Sorry to hear. I can imagine how frustrating it can be.

Agreed, with how much hustle and bustle of our daily lives it's very easy to forget. I have autopay on every CC set to the minimum just in case.

Call them. Be honest. Since you haven't been late before, they can see that. Most creditors offer a 1-time "goodwill" adjustment. They simply credit any late fee and it's like it never happened.

Don't worry OP. Life happens. Most CCC will give you a break on a first offense, and Barclays I have found is generally pretty friendly and will work with you.

To avoid in the future, I would either set up autopay for the minimum payment, or at least set auto reminders (most banks have a system where you can choose to receive a text or email reminder 5, 7, 10 days, etc in advance). Good luck!

I went thru the same and they adjusted my account and removed the late fee. You get one pass with them. I immediately logged in and made sure the minumum was on auto pay.
