AMEX BCE $25K now what?

So now that I have gone from $10K in Jan to $25K today, what's next? Do I have any hope of going higher? 3x's next try would take me to $75K and that doesn't seem feasible to me. Thinking at some point that Amex would stop at some pre-determined number like say $30K or so. Anyone know a max for the BCE?

$100K? Wow, really!? Great, at least that gives me something to shot for. But me thinks at some point they will do a FR....

$100K.

They will want those tax papers well before you get close to that 100k mark

I was at 25k a few weeks ago and did a small cli to 30k without a 4506 request. I may just punch in some absurd number next time, let them pull a 4506 and see what happens.

Keep in mind once you pass 25k you'll need to start proving and verifying things. It can be time consuming and a hassle.

Weigh that against the benefits. Do you need more than 25k?

Yeah, true. Unless I am traveling alot at one point, I doubt I will ever even come close to hitting 1/2 of the $25K. I do need to build a patio, stamped concrete, and that would run me around $5K or so from what I am seeing. So I guess I could do that and pay it off over a few months w/o killing my utilization overall....

Only takes a few minutes to fill in the form online if you don't mind sharing the information. I plan on going for 40k come here in about 70 days and will submit the form online. No magic $ figure sets it off, could be 20k, could be 35-40k.. If your income supports it and you don't mind sharing your tax disclosures go for it.. It isn't time consuming though.

I don't need more than the 23k I currently have, could of gone for 30k last time... I don't even need 15k, but it is nice to have that buffer and the huge CL to me rather than alot of 5k-10 cl's would rather have one nice massive one and some other cards for rewards.

Well the form is painless and quick and to the point meaning only a few minutes of a persons time.

That is crazy you haven't heard back yet, remember you requesting it and submitting the documentation. Is it an IRS problem (being the stellar agency they are) or Amex hangup? Have you called Amex to query about the situation? I know other people have provided info after yours with with results. I was wondering whatever happened with your request.

I know CLIs are addictive, but unless your spending can justify a higher limit, I'd be totally content with 24K. When they increased mine to $24,300 a year ago I didn't even try to ask again lol

I understand your position, but each person has a different goal.. As stated my limit is enough with them honestly, but I like to test boundary's. My income can support the CLI to 40k or possibly more. I just want to simpllify my CC portfolio and have one big limit and about four other cards that are around 10kish (prefer more) for rewards and kill off about 5 of my accounts. 2 Accounts with Amex, 2 Accounts with Chase and a few others and purge the rest. We all seek different credit goals and have different needs. I would never come close to using the 40k if approved, it is just to set the bar with other lenders and have a great cushion.

I was at 24K before my last cli. I asked for 50K because I know my income etc. supports it. Had the request for documents. I was trying to test a theory whether there was a "magic number" so I returned and started the CLI process again and asked for 30K. Instant approval. Didn't need the 50K on one card because I have business accounts that far surpass that, but hope that answers some of your questions.

I've called Amex 4 or 5 times, and they say they are waiting for the form from the IRS. Haven't called in about 10 days as I am losing interest!

I started at 3k, waited the 60 days got up to 8,800k despite asking for 9k. waited the 6 months Then got up 22k.

In september I will ask for a CLI, if I ask for exactly 25k, will I have to provide documentation?

Hard to say.^ maybe, maybe not. Though the consensus seems to be that $25k is the ceiling before they start asking for verification.
