I know that people report getting early credit steps increases and then still getting their 6 month increase.

My question is that the general rule I have heard is that capital one has a 6 month wait for increases via the love button and that the document response will say "you recently received an increase"... Has anyone else out there received LUV button increases within 2-6 months after receiving a LUV button specific increase (obviously not including EO or STEPS increases).

I'm mainly wanting to know if I have a shot at a LUV button increase prior to hitting my one year mark after having gotten an EO increase the day of my steps increase at my six month mark.

Great question. I have been wondering the same thing. I got an increase in April and should get my credit steps in July, But have been hoping I could hit the button after this month's statement and get another luv button cli before the July credit steps.

Those 2 cards start with much higher limits and will grow with you.

To get to their pre-qualifier, go to their website, click on "Credit Cards" and at the bottom of that page it'll say "See if you're pre-qualified for a credit card offer with no risk to your credit score" then click on the button that says "Find out in 60 seconds". Checking this will NOT affect your credit score.

Hmm... it's a shame no Venture came up. I don't have any experience with their Platinum cards, so not sure about starting limits or if they grow. Hopefully someone who knows will chime in. If you have 2 Quicksilvers, I would just work on getting CLIs on them for now and wait til the Venture comes up for you. But it's up to you. If I'm not mistaken, you can only have 5 Capital One cards (not including co-branded ones) so take that into consideration when thinking about what cards you really want. You could always close out the cards that won't grow later down the line if something you really wants comes up.

Checking this will NOT affect your credit score.

JustMe3,

I do have 2 Quicksilver cards. I just processed the pre-qualifier and they came back with regular platinum card with 0% APR until 2016 for balance transfers which might be nice. But no ventue.

I believe when I went to their prequalifier it came up with "we couldn't find a card for you but here's an offer you may look into" or something along those lines and it was for the Platinum. I applied for the VentureOne anyway and got approved. I think at some point I opted out of prequalified offers though, so it makes sense they couldn't find anything for me.

@Anonymous wrote:

Wonderful advice! Thank you very much! I will work on getting CLI's on the 2 capital one cards. I need to find a replacement card for my Credit One Card lol. Someone was telling me about Barclay's card.

Barclay could be a good option for you. I know they're new account and inquiry sensitive, but if all of your accounts and inquiries are older you stand a good chance at approval. It's a shame they don't offer a pre-qualifier. If your credit profile is fair to average, I think their NFL card and Rewards card are the easier ones to get. The Sallie Mae, Ring, and Arrival cards are for good to excellent credit I believe.

And there is always Discover and Amex.
