Authorize user question

The other day my aunt was trying to add me as an authorize user on her Sears Mastercard and her Meijer Mastercard and the customer service people added me for both but never asked for my SSN. They added my SSN on Sears after we asked but they would not take it for the Meijer card. Is there something special I need to say to them or ask them so that we can make sure that it reports.

SOme authorized users accounts will not require your SSN, but will still report. Take Chase for example...you can add an authorized user and only name is required, however it still reports to the credit bureaus. I think if the credit bureaus can find enough identifying information for the authorized user, it will report. Between SO and I, I am almost 100% sure it was the shared address tied to his credit profile that pushed the Chase through.

Normally if they don't ask for your ss it will only report if they can identify you. Which is most likely from an identical address on file. So if you do not live with this person the likeliness is low.

Hi guys, does anyone know if BofA pulls CB or looks into charged off history when you add spouse as an authorized user. I have bofA cash rewards card and recently opened up alaska airlines visa sig. Wife & I filed for BK (Ch 7) in 2013 but somehow it never reported on my EX file. My wife has BK reporting on all 3 CBs and had multiple BofA CCs included in BK.
