I decided I needed to close some of my accounts. Today I closed Kohls--300 limit and Friday I closed Brylane Home--250 limit, Dressbarn--1000 limit, Lane Bryant--500 limit and Torrid--900 limit. All of these cards were approved via HP, no SCT. I got these cards for my wife who was a size 14 and now is a size 10 working on size 8. I have no use for these cards now that my wife is smaller. I don't think it will affect my scores as I have 52,000 available credit and only owe 956.00. I plan on applying for the CITI Simplicity and Chase Freedom around January and I want my report looking good. Today my Fico scores are TU-735--20 inquires, EX 732--15 inquires and EQ 739--17 inquires. All inquires are from the last 8 months. I had 25 accts and now have 20. Do you think January would be a good time to apply? Also no lates, no derogs, no bk and no public records. Salary is 65,000 per year.
