APR Reduction Success

Well I recently went on my first APR reduction spree

BOA CR- 20.99 tp 16.99

BOA BBR- 18.99 to 15.99

Discover- 22.99 to 20.00

NFCU CR- 15.15 to 11.65

Barclays MC- 24.99 to 23.99

Nothing from Citi

Not bad.. never thought to ask until I read a few threads on this board... Thanks MyFico!!

Nice job! It never hurts to ask! Even if u dont revolve, a low apr can make u use that card more incase you need to revolve.

Congratulations!!! Did your BofA reductions have to go through EO or was a regular CSR/analyst able to help you? I had no luck with the frontline reps, had to escalate to EO. Also, did discover offer you a choice between 0% for 12 months and the rate you got, or did they just offer you the lower rate?

on Sunday I went throught the BOA chat and they told me I was eligible but I needed to speak with an analyst, so they gave me a number to call on Monday. The analyst that I spoke with spent all of 5 minutes, told me the rates and read the disclosures and I was done.

Wow! That is a success for sure! It never occurred to me either to ask for APR reductions, but once the into APRs on my cards wear off I will definitely go on a little APR reduction spree myself.
