AU accounts with Chase

so my wife and i got a chase sapphire preferred account. i'm the AU on tjis particular account. it looks like an AU can't get their own online account like you cam with amex. is that right? also, why doesn't chase do joint credit accounts? we couldn't find a joint account option when we opened this account last week.

You're correct, Chase does not allow AUs to create their own online account. As for joint accounts, Chase is like a lot of other credit card companies that don't allow joint accounts.

I don't know. Seems odd that most will allow you to include a spouse's income but won't do joint accounts. There is still some that do. See the link below.

DH is an AU on my Freedom, Slate and Amazon V. My experience is that yes, they do show on all of his CRs. Yes, he does get myfico alerts when a balance change happens for EX and EQ. BUT, the balance on any CC for which he's an AU does NOT calculate in the total Bankcard $ amount that TU reports on their alerts. This is what I blame for his TU being 10-20 points below the others (the fact that he's an AU on most cards and that TU's not counting them the same way as EX and EQ...and he's being over-penalized for carrying a couple 0% balances without the full benefit of all my available credit). My assumption could be wrong, but my experience on the alerts is accurate.

They do report for me for my wife's account. Started reporting less than a month after approval to all three CBs.

That's the problem with trying to extrapolate a trend based on a single data point -- on any topic. Chase does report for AU's, however, there are certainly outlying situations (just as there are outliers with any trend) where they do not or where they report incorrectly.

Do you have the same address and a family relation to the person whose account you are on? That could explain why you are not having the account reported.

My Chase account appears to be joint for DW and I. It has both our names on it, and DD as an AU.

It's likely the account is not being reported because you are not family. More likely to be reported if you have the same address.
