(they can recycle over and over.the total cost sense 2010 $114k damages charges, the legal aspect of it,.one year to clear my name. Identity,Taxes, rebuilding,

Fake collections, 20 calls a day none stop, should i change my # No. because. the detective in charge of my case at the time suggested to change my # .I responded . what make you think changing my # will stop them... they have all they need. My Identity .. !!!!

******It you already been a victim of Idenity theft and have not taken measures to protect and you think you been compermized dont take the chance to find out down the road avoid the headache and learn from my Mistake. not staying on top of my reports.*** I would have been lost and coslty lawyler if it wasnt for the community forum...

Just got a text alert/email - $100.75 charge at a gas station not too far away from me, but far enough. I immediately logged into my account online and called Chase. There was already a fraudulent charge of $2k or so at a Home Depot near me that I disputed. No cards have been lost so not sure what happened..

New cards with new numbers being overnighted but should I worry about anything else? I'm not noticing any wierd activity with my bank accounts. I'm guessing my credit card info was skimmed somewhere and then used to purchase something at HD to be sold for cash later on or something to that effect.

Hasn't been used at all today other than the fraudulent charges.

At least that number has been shut down and new cards are on the way and they said charges would go away within 72 hours (I hope).

My guess is maybe at the restaurant from last night?

Wife is an AU and she is actually the one that saw the alert and immediately double checked to make sure we both had our cards in our wallets. At least CSR was super helpful/nice. Hopefully this will all blow over in the next couple of days, but I have read about these cards and fraud being a problem maybe more so than other cards..

It's possible it happened at the restaraunt last night, but to use it at a gas station and a brick and mortar store they'd have to have an actual card and not just the card numbers, etc. (as opposed to ordering something online). It's a possibility that your card was skimmed awhile back and they had a card made with your info. on it. It's hard to say, but I hope you get this cleared up. I've heard Chase is really good about stuff like this, so you should be fine. I'd just watch the rest of your accounts really close over the next few months.

As others have said nothing really to worry about. Sadly tons of cards are used fraudulently everyday and it's impossible to know where the card info was copied. The cc companies don't even try to track it down as there isn't much they can do. New card will come and you'll be fine. Happened to me last month with my Ritz card.

There's just so many Chase customers who are being affected by fradulent charges recently - 3 on this thread alone within the past month. Just trying to see if there is a common link. As Irish stated, it's impossible to track down this kind of stuff, but I just can't help notice how prevalent it is with Chase's cards lately.

It is just amazing the proportion of fraud posts that are Chase. There was a huge breach last year of like 50 or 100 million(dont remember exactly, but it was a LOT) customer accounts. Makes you wonder if it is related. I would be willing to bet that it is. Especially considering many of the posts are from people who say they have the card SD'd.

It just sucks for the people this happens to. I know here in my state there is always a news story about a skimmer being found at a gas station or on an ATM. Then there's reports of some type of device that can get you card info just by standing close to your wallet or purse. It's hard to say, but unless everyone is using their Chase cards much more than any other card, it still seems weird to me that this happens so often with Chase's cards. Maybe someone's skimming Chase's cards right after they're made and before they're shipped to us.

Out of all the cards from different lenders, my Chase cards have been the only ones affected by fraudulent activity in the last 3 years. It seems I get a fraud alert at least once a year on my Chase accounts. In one instance, both my Freedom and CSP were affected one week apart. Same observation for my Mom's Chase cards -- her sockdrawered card had a fraud alert earlier this year. What's up with Chase??
