NFCU APPROVAL

Hello everyone! I have heard such great things about NFCU so I decided to join. I became a member this past Saturday (9/13). I applied for the Flagship CC and was approved for a 3500 CL. instant. I also applied for the Navcheck CL and the Signature LOC both of these are still in the review process. The message stated that it would take 24hrs. I am hoping to hear something from them tomorrow (9/16).

My EQ is 620ish, do you think I will be approved for the Navcheck CL (3500) and the Signature LOC (5000) with my credit score and with them already given me the CC????? Just wondering if I have a chance????

I have now totally screwed up. When I applied for the Navcheck instead of selecting Navcheck under the purpose of the loan I selected personal expenses. So, I submitted an email message stating that I wanted to be considered for the Navcheck instead of a personal loan.My status is still saying in Review process. Do you think they will get my message before they make a decision??? I don't want to be denied for the wrong loan.

I'd give them a call and talk to them about it, rather than waiting for your email to work its way through the channels, and perhaps not reaching them before they make their decision. Congrats on getting in with this great credit union.

Yes, call them. ALL their csr are knowledgable and pleasant. The NAVcheck is an overdraft LOC tied to your checking account, and it reports as a revolving account.

I decided to call them and the rep withdrew the applications since they were still pending. She told me to go back in and select Navchek when I apply. So, I applied and I got the 24 hr message hopefully I will get an approval response in the next 24 hrs. Does this sound correct???

Yes, 'cept it may take more like 48 hours. Since NFCU opened their membership, they are 'prolly swamped. My NAVcheck account took 48 hours to be approved.

Defintely CALL. I have been banking with NFCU for 26 years. When ic all the reps are most helpful. When I write or use the online I get responses that do not relate to the questions asked. They can be understanding but the worst way to see that side of NFCU is to write.

Well I found out today that I was denied for the 7500 Navcheck LOC. I guess I asked for too much. The reasons says: Income insufficient for amount of credit requested. I wonder if I can be considered for a smaller amount????? Do you think I should forget about it or ask for a smaller amount???? Advice please???

It took about 24hrs. I called in and asked if I could see if I am eligible for a smaller amount and the CSR stated that he would put me in for 2500. He said that this way I wouldn't get another inq. He also said that it would take about 24hrs. So, I'll let you know what happens.

You were smart to go high and then call in and go lower. I started out asking for $1,000 and tried for an increase and was denied. Good luck!

Well, I finally received a reply today. I was approved for Navcheck 1500 instead of the 7500 or the 2500. The CSR said that at this moment I am only eligible for the 1500 LOC Navcheck. I am happy that I was able to qualify. So, I will take the 1500 and be happy. As time goes on I'm sure I will qualify for more. Thanks for all the advice!! So, I now have a 3500 visa and 1500 Navcheck LOC with NFCU!!

That is great news congratulations!!! I just opened an account last friday, I was wondering did you have any baddies when you applied because i have two paid collections charge-offs and score around the same as yours. I would like very much to get a real credit card. thanks

I have 2 charge-offs that will come off in Jan. 09. Also I have 3 other cards that are close to the limit, but that didn't stop the approval. The CC was online application instant 3500 CL. I am going to pay off the other 3 CC's and just keep the one from NFCU. Give it a try.

Ya saw that when I logged in yesterday. I was soooo mad!!! But then I remembered... I was so happy just to be approved for a CL a few months ago so I decided not to call
