Backdating AMEX, Question

I am probably 8-10 months from AMEX, I had AMEX back in the early 90's until 2000 when I had to file BK13 due to disability. I see a lot of folks who have been able to backdate AMEX, would this be possible in my case? I assume they do this to improve the age of accounts correct?

Someone please tell me if I'm wrong but Amex stopped backdating accounts.

Amex no longer backdates to the CRAs. Best you'll get is a possibly improved "Member Since" date on the face of your card, which is essentially useless.

No one can be backdated on AMEX anymore. Past circumstances don't matter. They stopped in May of this year. The reasons why are shrouded in mystery but it seems it was to a formal complaint about the practice from either the CRA's or Visa/ MC

I had an Amex Green card, issued in 1995, that was included in BK7 in 2000. I was able to get back in with them back in April, with a new Green card and a BCP. I missed the backdating by around three weeks. Sigh...

I can't really complain, though... honestly, I didn't think I would ever be back in the club. When I log into my online account, it says "Member since 1995", but on my credit reports the accounts both report open 4/2015. My cards were issued with "Member Since" dates of 2015 as well, but I've read you can drop Amex a line and they will send new plastic with the 'correct' year. Since nobody ever sees the cards these days, I haven't bothered.

The backdating was 'sweet', but even without it it's nice to be back 'in'.

Note: As a data-point, my SL on my BCP was only $1000, which is quite a bit lower than my other CLs, but it's OK since I always PIF and I only use it at grocery stores anyway. Also, the 3X CLI everybody talks about was declined; the letter stated due to "Previous American Express Accounts", so while they 'forgave' me enough to give me an account they definitely remember what happened 15 years ago. Also, my APR is the highest at 21.9%. I'm hoping with time I can earn a higher CL and a lower APR.
