BOA/FIA CLIs and Recon?

So just had a few TU inquiries fall off this month and decided I could spare one or two HP's. Decided to log onto my BOA Travel Rewards account to ask for a CLI. CL was 12K.......requested 25K; they countered with $20.5K. Great!

Should have called it a night, but got greedy and decided to do the same with my Fidelity AMEX card (CL also at 12K). Got the dreaded 7-10 day message. Should I bother with recon? Or maybe I've reached my internal limit? Has anyone had sucess getting 2 CLIs with BOA/FIA within a 24 hour period?

Yes, call credit analyst or senior credit analyst. See what he/she says. Congrats on that awesome recon and limit! I wish I would have done the same. Got the 12k also but I'm a chicken!lol

Thx Sandibeach! Yeah I should have added I used an 18 mos 0% BT on the Fidelity AMEX a few months ago. Took out $5K and still have about $2K left to pay off. Probably should have waited until it was paid down to $0 before asking for a CLI.

Isn't it always a HP for a CLI? If so, you took the HP, so you may as well call and try to recon. But since they just bumped up the Travel Rewards so much, that may be the issue.

That's what I'm thinking too. I may have bumped up against my internal limit with BOA. I will go ahead and call later today...worst thing they can say is no, right?

NO, Call Fidelity INSTANTLY!

When my partner requested from $20k to $30k on his BofA and Fidelity $25k to $40k both went to review... BofA saw both requests and ended up deciding that she could approve the BofA one if that worked... Hung up with her and called Fidelity and he took 1 look at account and credit and said you handle the account so well, have no issue giving you the CL.

Fidelity is way more giving than BofA even though they are same bank!

Called FIA and spoke with a sr credit analyst. As I suspected, I've reached my current internal limit with BofA/FIA. She offered to transfer some of the CL from my BOA Travel Rewards onto the FIA but I told her no worries. I will just stay where I am for now and maybe try again in 6 months. Oh well nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Back to the garden!

I had the same issue as you. I think BofA looks for a certain internal limit and then that's it. Oh well :-) nice CLI nonetheless

was instant approved for the fidelity card @ 10k and had a cash rewards BOA stuck at 3.4k
