Reinstate CSP?

I recently downgraded my CSP to a Slate card as I did not have a use for it (UR were transferred to Freedom for safekeeping). I had not been paying attention to the points or churning game for a few months and did not realize it would be nearly impossible to reapply anytime in the next 2 years, meaning my points are not going to be transferable.

My original plan was to apply for an Ink Plus whenever the bonus was a bit higher to regain transferring and stave off the AF for another year. Unfortunately it seems that the Ink line now falls under the same scrutiny of all UR cards, meaning I'm SOL.

My question is; has anyone gone through a similar conundrum lately? Obviously I would not like to have an AF on a card that I wont use (all categories covered by other cards), but now it seems I have no choice if I want to maintain transferring ability. I'm also wondering if I missed a solution.

Where did you see this information? I was told the exact opposite, so if there was a change I would be very interested because I had planned to apply for the ink plus.

It is simple, it won't be re-instated. You will have to apply for a fresh new card.

Why would you want to reinstate it if it wasnt working for you?

Be careful abusing and churning Chase cards. Theyre cracking down on this stuff and dont like it one bit. So if thats youre only reason, id leave it alone.

There are also reports of people being approved for the Ink cards despite the 5/24 'rule' so it varies but you definitely would have to reapply as Yes It's Me says for the CSP

No, it does not work like that. Can you imagine if they did that? People will just take advantge of it.

I would have ~100k UR that would not be usable for 2 years if ever.

I'm not sure why someone would willingly pay an annual fee everytime the PC a card back, but that is disappoint news to say the least. I got another misinformed CSR i guess.

Unfortunately you are likely just out of luck. All you can do is wait and reapply later. At least your points are safe on Freedom.

+1 in terms of people still getting ink cards. I have seen reports of people still getting the ink cards so I do not think those bloggers are correct and those articles are older than some reports I have seen, so I wouldn't write it off as a possibility.

I don't understand why you can't PC it back (not that I ever tried)? How is that taking advantage? They could just apply the AF when you PC it.

Yep.sol all over $95. Live and learn. Need to wait, new rule applies to Ink cards also. OP, you are a prime example why Chase has this new rule.

Just wanted to leave a data point for others in this situation. I called card services and was able to PC the slate back to a CSP without issue (that I know of). The original PC to the slate was about 2 months ago.

Yes, I believe so. My account hasn't switched over yet, but I will report back in a few days

Except there are people still getting ink cards. Oh and below OP was able to get back the CSP so OP isn't "sol". Thankfully OP didn't take what is said here has gospel and called Chase to confirm.
