Capital One World Elite....

So i notified an EO via email ...

I had been a customer for such long time and believe it's time for an upgrade. If i could upgrade my Capitol One Platinum MasterCard to World Elite MasterCard i would greatly appreciate it very much. Thank you

Got a call the next day from the ''Executive office'' (really just their assistant calling) mumbling about how my card doesn't offer after using it for 4 years with a credit limit pass $5,000. Told me that maybe i want to look online for their other ''products.'' I jusaid yeah okay.... mmm hmmmm and hung up.

The next day got an email...

Your new credit card is on its way

Your new credit card was mailed today. Thanks for being a Capital One® customer.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I just went throught a World MC upgrade via EO at Cap1.

The whole process took about a week. When I inquired about a World Elite MC, she told me it was not an option but could submit a request for a World Card.

It was approved and I received it within another week.

But good luck, I hope they did it for you!

My QS MC just got upgraded today to WMC . EO said they no longer offer the WEMC as they where just running a trail on

it but have discontinued it.

if you want to know if your card was upgraded and to which card do this.

go to services----->Balance transfer ----->Select your card ------> it will say QS World card or platinum. Whichever you have.

You you can also click the "cards Benifits " if it shows you all the Benifits like concierge service , luggage , rental car, purchase protection etc. then it's upgraded.

So, when do you app for the GM Buy Power card ?

Barclay wanted to change my Rewards to Arrival + which is a World Elite Mastercard earnong 2% as the GM Buy Power Card but has an annual fee so i was trying to get Captiol One to change my Platinum to World Elite instead and leave Barlay alone. Otherwise, Citi Double Cash said i can change World MasterCard to Elite when my INTRO APR ends but has foreign transaction fee. That's why i was trying to get my captiol one to world elite and just use that abroad instead. No annal fee. no transaction fee. I had 2 captiol one and just combined them into one and cancel out the other. So getting another capital one would not make much sense. Especially if i cancel out my longer standing and very first credit card... though i hear it stays on your report for 10 years ?

Why do you think you need to close any of your other CapOne cards? The GM BuyPower card is a WEMC, the terms are same as other CapOne cards, no FTF, no AF, no BT fee, and co-branded so doesn't really count in your CapOne limit of card count. If you want a WEMC, it's the most efficient way to get there, because CapOne isn't handing out QuickSilver WEMC in any sort of volume above a minimal test.

This is an old thread. The OP never got the Capital One WEMC. For Quicksilver or Venture cards, those are only available by invite-only or if the account meets specific eligibility criteria.
