Received preapp offer yesterday.

It's a GEMB card so that doesnt thrill me, but the 30 cents a gallon discount for 90 days is pretty tempting.

Just not sure if it's worth the inq since GEMB is not known for it's generous limits.

I've never had any kind of gas card at all, but I thought this might be better since it's a Visa. DH rec'd offer for 'plain' gas card last month, but we let offer expire (20 cents savings for 2 cycles).

From reading a couple of other posts, I assume this Visa is a relatively new card.

Anybody had any experience with it yet?? Main concern is CL, since I'd probably earmark this just for gas and would be PIF monthly so APR not as much of a concern.

Just saw this on another thread:

Today's Wall Street Journal page B1 headline:

GE Cuts Outlook Plans to Shrink Credit Unit

<quote>

Consumer delinquencies, which mostly affect GE's credit-card operations are "running into levels of some of the worst economic periods that we have seen," Mr. Sherin [Chief Financial Officer Keith Sherin] said. He said GE won't be able to sell its $30 billion U.S. private-label credit-card business in the near future, as planned, and will have to boost provisions for the business.

</quote>

Makes me wonder even more if it's even worth apping for this Chevron/Texaco Visa?!?!?!

USC...do you have one of these Visas yourself??!!

Those people called to complain and asked them to combine the accounts into 1 account with a higher limit. GEMB said no. :/

No matter to me anyways, my Chevron card has been gathering dust ever since I got a Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards Visa. 5% cash back every month no matter where I buy my gas from is a lot better than no rewards with my current Chevron card.

I have 5 accounts with GEMB and they have declined me for every CC that I have applied for and have always ended up giving me things like a PayPal Buyers Credit account, Car Care One and Chevron/Texaco card instead of the credit card version.
