Do I have a shot??

Wondering if I would have a shot a Cap One Venture or Delta AMEX with TU 652, EQ 645, EX 642 -- AAoA 5 years. Income 90k. 2 baddies on each, set to fall off December and January. I have 1 inq on EX, 2 on TU, 3 on EQ.

In the past 4 months, I've opened a Barclays Apple Rewards and Cap One QS1. I'd like to get one more, maybe more in "prime" land???. Any advice??

Garden until January. You should see a nice score bump. In the meantime, treat those new cards well.

Yes, you do have a short at the ones you mentioned. Go for the Venture and report back with results.

Wait until January. This close to having your baddies off completely. A few more months will see your scores improve and then bump when they drop off. Then, not only are you in prime land, but you will get higher SL, better APR, best approval chances with any lender.

We have found the following exclusive Card offers for you.

Delta Gold

BCP

Platinum

I also have an offer from Delta Gold sent to me via email (it has my skymiles number) and is offering 60k miles (opposed to the prequal site that is offering 50k)

Very solid. The Delta card is the easiest card to get. So if you have an offer via mail with 60k miles, apply through that link instead.

Concur you have a shot w/both amex and the Venture.. I wouldn't try for the BCP though and stick with delta if you were trying to get your foot in with Amex, the BCE/BCP is known to have a bit stricter UW

Oh I app'd.....and.....approved for Delta Amex. I'm in. I never thought I would ever get into Amex! It's small limit though 1k, but at least I have my foot in the door.!

I'm kind of scared to go for the Venture -- I'm not prequaled for Cap One at all. Not for any of the cards.

Have all 3 CB's unfroozen currently? If so it can go either way.. Pre-Quals from them are solid 99% of the time, although alot of people get the card without them as well. Just make sure if you decide to apply that you have all 3 unfroozen or you will get declined most likely as they do a triple pull 1 from each CB.. I think your chances are decent, but as with anything in credit there can be a denial as everyone on this forum have had them one time or another.. Cap1 isn't exactly strict. It really comes down do you want to and can you afford a pull on each CB.

I think you have a pretty good shot.. Your inquiries are really low (so in my opinion you can afford 1 hp on each CB) and you have a healthly income and your 2 baddies are really aged and old.. I would predict an approval, but as stated anything can happen.. I would guess based on salary 15-20k range. Let us know if you decide to go forward!

I think it is worth a shot to apply now. If you miss, you wait until February, rather than Jan. no biggie there.
