Can you please refresh me on the different Comenity Visa-type cards, whether Comenity or Comenity Capital? I don't have any of their cards yet, don't want any store cards, but would like to make a list of their Visa/MC cards to apply for over time. Thanks. (I know Sportsman's Guide and Total Rewards are two of them).

Just thought this might be helpful information for others to know. Three of the Visa Signature cards I was recently approved for were through Comenity Capital. Just spoke with them on the phone and it seems there can be quite a lag time between approval and their initial reporting. This seems to differ a bit from regular Comenity, as my regular Comenity (non-Comenity Capital) Visa is already reporting.

Data points:

Approved for 3 Comenity Capital Visa Signatures 7/15

Received cards within one week of this date (Total Rewards arrived 4 days later- fast!)

Have been using cards

Spoke with Comenity Capital today and said that reporting to bureaus would not happen until 9/8 on my regular reporting period.

Since that is almost 2 months after I was approved, I wanted to share and let others know that it could also be about 2 months before your Comenity Capital cards get reported.

As I mentioned, I also was approved for a Comenity Visa in addition (Sportsman's Guide, which is not Comenity Capital) and which started reporting within 9 days of approval. So, the take-away is that the two divisions may report differently and will get onto your report eventually, although it may take two months. Have a good day everyone and hope this data point and info helps someone.
