Cap one is there a new EO number

I tried to call them for the first time yesterday and the numbers I found went to CSRs.

I have a payment I made August 3rd on Cap One's website. It cleared my Wells checking August 4th.

The payment shows "posted" under the general payment category online that lists payments for all three of my capital one accounts but it isn't applied to actual card. My other two cards are at 0 and it even shows under payment activity it is supposed to go to my account with the last 4 digits I paid it for. This amount was supposed to pay off my balance on this card and is my final card to completely pay off. When I call the CSRs they tell me they don't know why it's happening and keep telling me to wait another day. My minimum payment due is coming up in two days but I have already paid this off but for some reason it isn't getting attached to my account.

I have confirmation that it cleared my Wells account, a confirmation email from Capital One that my payment "posted" even though it hasn't and a confirmation text alert that it posted.

Is there someone better I can contact that anyone knows at Capital One that help me get this payment attached?

PS- All three CSRs said "I've never seen this before." My other online payments always posted next business day. They said I could pay again if I wanted but that would then make my balance ( - 441, or a 441 credit) I'm just so confused. Keep feeling like I'm doing the right thing almost done rebuilding my credit and it just seems like there is always something.

There is no number anymore. You must email them. They got so slammed by people that they closed down the old number. When they call if you don't answer they'll leave a message with a number and a passcode that's valid just for you. Otherwise there is no way to get in touch with them that I know of. You maybe able to call frontline CSR and have your call escalated there if you go through all the chains but I'm not sure.

Why dont you call CSRs again and try to get a supervisor to fix the glitch? By the time you get an EO response and fix it will be at least another week anyway so its not an efficient solution. There is no new number.

Can you private message me the email if you have it? The CSR supervisor told me they didn't know what was going on either and they've never seen a payment not attach to a specific account. Something is wrong with my online account. It even now says I have 301,800 miles when I should only have 3018.

if you email the EO over everything they'll get rid of that too. they got rid of the number from being bombarded with nonsense.

I just got a new replacement card today in the mail and this one has a chip in it!

I don't need a chip in my card!

You can just google Cap One EO email if you really want it. Why not call the CSRs and ask for tech support as it sounds like it's some sort of technical/system glitch? Or leave it for a day or two (sometimes these things fix themselves!)?

Come on, this is what people are talking about, over-using the EO for little issues. Just prise the chip out with a screwdriver. (Then cover it in foil and burn, otherwise it will continue to read your thoughts)

While I agree that this issue is not one best handled by the EO, some of the responses are bordering on disrespectful. Please be careful about your responses; a response intended to be humorous might not come across that way through the Forum.

OP, I wouldn't recommend contacting the EO unless your payment doesn't post on time and the frontline CSRs are unable to address it. I would call back in to the CSRs and then politely ask for a supervisor or manager to help you resolve, if the CSRs don't see anything yet.

I've only called the EO once... it was back around November 2013. They resolved my issue and never needed them again.

After reading all of the posts on here over the last couple of years, I've thought that they must get a TON of calls from people looking for a CLI. I've used it with great success a few times. Sad to see it go. Hoping the Luv Button provides nice benefits. If not, I'll let my fingers do the typing.

I contacted the EO once. After multiple tries through regular CSR phone, SM, and live chat to get a 7 year old QS1 converted to the QS with no success, I gave them a shout. Same no result as the other attempts. So, I dumped the card.

I think the issue was during the "crisis" you had to use the EO to get anything done. As we've all been witness to over the last year this is no longer the case. The frontline CSR's have much more power now to help you and running to the EO is much less likely to give you the results it once did when the front lines had there hands tied. Most issues you can resolve right through chat now. Sometimes even easier than calling.

To the OP please do let us know what the result of all this is. While this thread has devolved I for one would be very worried in your position as well and would be seeking all avenues to try and figure out why my payment is not posting. Hopefully you are able to escalate it high enough from a CSR call to get your answers soon.

You can still email and they will get back to you within a couple of days. I don't believe in bugging the EO for dumb reasons either but come on does everyone always have to have a rude comment? Sarcasm isn't always the answer.
