I have a 630-650 credit range and a dismissed BK in '07. Just purchased a home with my wife. Is a barclays card a possibility?

Just got denied by Rooms To Go

Possibly. Is your TU on the high or low end of that?

Just curious, what is keeping your scores so low if your bk was discharged 8 years ago?

My only two cards are Cap 1 secured that I've been having for many years (reason I dont want to close) and Cap 1 Quicksilver (4800 CL)

Barclays is one that you can call the UWs and recon so if you do try it, call them whether its a denial or to get a higher SL.

I got in with them with my rewards card with a 640. It was on the lower end of starting limits, $500, but it grew.

Do you have at least 6-12 months of revolving history?

Yes I do. Im 2 months fresh off building a home and getting approved for an FHA loan. I also just bought an Infiniti SUV with no problem anout 4 months ago.

Just weary of wasting a HP because of the denial from Rooms To Go

If that's the case, I believe you have a good chance with Barclay; however, I'm not familiar with their view on BKs, but your's is pretty old. Hopefully someone familiar with Barclay and BKs will chime in.

I just applied and got the 7-10 day descision thing. I'll call tomorrow see if they will reconsider.

When I got approved in April this year:

Chapter 7- 2011

Several paid collections

Did have 5 good standing credit card lines and on my 3rd auto loan. The oldest card is from August of 2014-First Premier.

Verve,First Premier,First Savings,Open Sky,Cap Quicksilver.

Credit scores I believe were 570-595. Now they are 644-648.

Got approved for $500 instantly.

Just an update, called for a recon and spoke to a very nice lasy who approved me for 5k...awesome

Nice job! One of the things I really like about Barclays is they are very willing to do recons.

I aplied last weekend and received "We're in the process of reviewing the information you provided for your Extra Points MasterCard application. Please keep in mind it can take up to 10 business days to process your application..." I'm wondering if I should call them.

It can go either way. I would give them a call.
