Chase Freedom users who DON'T have CSP

For those who have Freedom, but not the CSP, do you guys save your points because you may want to transfer them to CSP in a later date (because they don't expire), or do you guys use the points after you earn them?

I think if it were me, I would want to save the points so I could transfer them to CSP if I ever got one.

don't be me who cashed out freedom , when i eventually got csp and ink plus down the road , which i could have transferred my UR points to airline partner :-(

I recently transfer some Marriott points to United along with about 50K UR I had left. I have some ideas for those.

I've got about 100K points stashed on my Freedom and Inkcash from the first

18 months of use and signup on both. I'm going to Australia and NZ in a couple

years for a vacation so I'm not in a hurry for a CSP or Ink plus right now. But probably

a year or two out.

one thing I still regret today is redeem 30K ur points for statement credit 4 years ago, not only I missed BestBuy black friday fiasco that year, but also 30K less UR transfer to partners.
but I bought about same amount UR from friends while it was allowed/not enforced.

Can I know what you use your Citi Premier for if you have the Freedom+CSP combo? (guessing you use the combo the most)

I got back with citi by apply premier, mainly to get 50K bonus, they grandfathered 3X dinner for another year, CLI from 8K to 12K in 5 month, and lower Apr by 3 click which chase did none of above for tha past 10 years for me.
they are interchangeable in my book, I use premier more because it's a new toy and citi treat me very well.
OT, I still get 5% gas reward on freedom in foreign country, even i have to pay 3% ftf, I am still ahead, bacause I value ur at 2c.

Maybe in this thread! But you see lots of people who regard Freedom as a 5% like Discover and cash out

We(wife and I) have no plans to use any of our points on our Freedoms until we get CSPs.

if most people NOT redeem for statement credit or gift card, chase would stop the transfer between freedom and CSP.
They lose money by give out 5% on whatever category and I guess they loose even more by points transfer

Not really. They foster loyalty to the brand and the program by allowing combination of points.

Hmm I think after the Discover Double cash bonus runs out, I'm going to app for Freedom and mainly use that for 5% unless Disc has a category I need to use. (to rack up as much UR)

Do you really see yourself getting a CSP though OP? I thought in your other thread the consensus was mostly that you weren't getting one. Im all for saving points, but if you arent getting a CSP anytime soon theres no need, really

People vary. Each needs to do what works for the individual. There are plenty that use the Freedom just for statement credits. There are also plenty that have a Freedom and accumulate their UR's in anticipation of a CSP or other card to enable transfers.

This. Don't assume that a few posts in a thread = everyone. Or even that myFICO users = everyone. Again, each has to do whatever it is that works for the individual. People do not all have the same needs/wants/preferences/priorities.
