Updated Ritz Carlton Metal Lead/Wait Time

Was just approved for 29,900 SL (highest limit 30,000 on amx bcp after doing 3x CLI in June. Experian about 760). I want to start putting spending on it right away to make sure I quality for platinum status. Called 855.896.2222 for EO. I was informed that the metal version cannot be overnighted and takes about 10 days to be shipped. Is this a YMMV thing where I should just call until a csr rep says it's possible? (obviously instead I can have a plastic version overnighted while waiting but I'm jw) From a quick search I saw there was a metal card shortage a couple months back but coudnt find recent info.

Don't know about having it expedited, but I do remember reading a few threads a good while back (maybe even last year, time flies when you're having fun on the myfico forums) that there was a shortage of the metal cards for Ritz-Rewards and they briefly sent out plastic ones. They might be in the same pickle, I'm just speculating though. It could be that that's their normal turnover time. Don't have it now but that's certainly a card I want to grab next year, gardening for the rest of 2015 though.

I sure hope they still have the metal, my Ritz is coming today UPS. Was approved last monday.

No metal shortages. Just added my wife as an AU on Saturday night and the card showed up on the doorstep Monday.

Uhmm... I'm pretty sure the metal version CAN be overnighted because i just added my GF as an AU and it was overnighted to us via UPS.

Id think that if they have the metal in stock it could be overnighted, but if you have spend to make and are concerned the metal wont come in time, just get the plastic overnighted...it spends the same

And uhmmm...I dont believe the Ritz card helps you qualify for Platinum status. I think it's just Gold.

it can be overnighted from the day it ships, BUT if it's a brand new card it can take up to 14 days for the whole approval process to happen. they need to either create or link a Marriott rewards account for you. it usually takes about 5 days. once you see the card show up in your chase online account, call 866-576-7575 and ask them to expedite your card. the card is shipped ups overnight air saver, leaving chase at around 7pm EST. so call before 5-6.

if it's a Friday when it shows up online, call and request expedited delivery for Saturday delivery, otherwise you won't get it till Monday.

you can make a ups my choice account to track your package without the tracking number.

Thank you all for the responses. @jsucool76 I had better luck with the number u provided. The EO rep stated she can rush an additional card and should be here tomorrow.

Awesome! Congrats! If you get you situation handled before 4 pm, Chase can ensure you that you will receieve next day delivery. I would sign u for UPS my alerts. Its really nice and tracks your packages.

the number I gave you is the priority services number that I found listed in the benefit guide for the palladium card, but that's the one I use for everything. lol.

I wonder how long it is going to take to expedite your card if the Marriott/Ritz account hasn't been made yet. That was the hold up when I wanted to get my Marriott card expedited. Good luck though!

If you were just approved (like within the last day or two) I wouldn't depend too much on the CSRs words. When I called up to get mine expedited, the rep I spoke with actually put me on hold and called over to the lending department to get them to force a card # to generate, and then came back and was like "Hey....I can't do it"

Just keep an eye on your UPS my choice account, and your chase online account. Once the account shows up online, your card should be there within 1-2 days.
