Anyone ASK to have Banana Republic card Upgraded?

For those here who have, or have had a Banana Republic store card, has anyone asked to have the card upgraded to a Visa? I know there are many posts from people stating how they one day got a pop up offer to upgrade their store card to the Visa version, but I'm wondering if anyone has actually asked via chat or otherwise, to have the card upgraded and have had success getting it done.

I did not know this was possible. I have a BR card and never got the pop up msg.

Yes, after good history and usage, Banana eventually offers an upgrade to Visa, but most have gotten the offer after long periods of time (years), though a few have reported a shorter length...1 even getting it after 6-8 months.

I had mine for 23 months when I saw the pop up invitation.

Bonus: The CL went from like $500 to $3500 when I switched over to the Visa.

Bonus2: BR is having a special this month. 5% back EVERYWHERE, plus 100 points ($1 value) for each day that this card is used.

If your credit has improved a lot I would just apply for a Banana Republic Visa... the only difference between applying and the pop up is the HP but even the upgrade offer vs applying reports as a new account!

I'd rather not go for another HP.
