Whats the one account you regret opening the most?

What is the one account you regret opening the most while rebuilding and why do you regret that account?

For me it would be fingerhut.

Considering that I will never use it, I will never get a cli. And that account will show on my report for a decade even if I close it now.

I didnt know as much as I do now or I never would have opened that account.

Id have to say the same, Fingerhut/Gettington (same company), I closed them 2 weeks after I opened them. OH and Credit one, but luckily I closed it right after I applied (thought they were capital one :/) and I got out of the annual fee and they said they wouldn't report the account so..

Creditone is up there, I just cancelled it after 8 months a couple weeks ago after getting them to credit back half my annual fee I had paid in november.

Kay kewlers is up there a little bit. I opened it, walked into jared and expected to be able to use it there, and ended up having to app for a jared card. Got approved for same limit but shows up on my credit report with them split so I canceled kay to make jared show my whole limit.

The Amazon store card. I just wanted to get approved for something. I don't shop on Amazon often, and I don't have Prime, so there is no benefit for me to have the card. I have used it once since I have had it to buy a car charger for my mother's new phone. So on a 4k card, my high balance shows $2.00. And it has the highest interest rate of any of my cards!

Does anyone know of any benefits to this card that I am not aware of? I don't get free shipping because I don't have prime. I don't know if the special fiancing offers are available for the card without Prime.

Shell Gas Card , not work here in puerto rico and i close it 1 month later , waste of time and hard inquiry.

Annipoo- the special financing is available without prime. It's always been apart of the store card, the prime 5% back is newer.

I actually love my Amazon card, even though im not a frequent user. But it comes in handy a few times a year for oddball items. Ex: needed pool supplies, goggles, beach towels, toys, chlorine, etc. ordered it using free two day shipping (only used the free trial for prime, cancelled before expired), and got 0% financing for 6months. Win win! I usually also use it for birthdays or holidays, for the oddball toy bf daughter wants that we cant find elsewhere. But im starting to realize prime may easily be worth it, as shipping adds up, and for the time i order stuff that costs less than $150. Despite it also being my highest APR, i pay it off quick enough that i rarely pay interest, even if i carry a balance a few months, its not alot. Plus, they raised me to $3500 after a year.

I so regret my SCT cards, which i feel others will be saying the same here. Avenue- complete waste, overstock was useful at first to get higher cl, but now id have to force myself to use it, and may just close it. They both lowered my aaoa for nothing. I do like my VS card, as i dont charge that much to it but still get decent rewards and coupons.

But i must say, they were a crucial part of my rebuild. But i couldve just gotten VS, instead of all three. My scores would probably be >700 now if i had.

I also kind of regret Walmart. It is now my highest cl though, at 4000. And i know it will continue to grow.

They have free standard shipping on orders of $35 or more even if you don't have Prime. I got the special financing on my new laptop (no interest for 12 months) without having Prime.

Is that because you used up a hard inquiry or are there other reasons? I have had a zero balance w/Fingerhut for over a year but an 1,800 credit line so I see it as good for utilization calculation and AAOA at least.

Thanks guys. I didn't know that they offered the special financing without Prime (I have never bought anything that expensive on Amazon). And free shipping on orders over $35? I didn't know that either. WalMart has the same deal on shipping right now.

Clearly for me it's my Amex platinum card... $450 annual fee, no reporting to credit bureau, no credit, no use of its benefits, almost no use of its perks

Number 2 is my Amex Delta Gold.... $95 annual fee, tiny credit limit, no CLI's, no use of its perks or benefits

Sort of a toss up between the Cashcall installment loan that I took waaay early in my rebuild, and the Walmart store card I opened one year in.

Both were unnecessary tradelines, the first when I really didn't know any better, and the second well, I think I should've known more score options would be available in the future but I wanted the FICO right then and there... oh well. Junk store card, will be closing that out sometime in the semi-near future.

I find and this is just in my circumstances .....rotating categories for spending don't work for me as well as a straight cashback/everyday use card
