2nd AMEX APR reduction in 4 days

App'ed for SPG on 8.14 and instant approval. $2000 CL at 19.24%

Contacted them via online chat 8.17. APR reduced to 16.24%.

Contacted them via online chat 8.21. APR reduced to 13.24%.

And moved $8K over from Delta.

I'm a firm believer that just because I get approved at one APR doesn't mean that it's going to stay there. Back in March I did four APR reductions in four days with Citi.

Let the fun begin!

What??? This is unreal. I just got reduced 3 days ago from 19.24 to 17.24. You're saying a new chat rep can't see I was just reduced? And I can ask again? Maybe I try again in month

For me, I've never had luck more often than every couple months. OP got lucky, but I think generally, they can see if you recently recieved a reduction. While I don't know what their policy on "recently" is, I'm not going to draw too much attention to myself by constantly asking. They lowered me to 13.24% a couple weeks ago. Good enough for a rewards card for now. I'll try again at the end of the year or beginning of 2016 or something.

13.24% is the lowest they'll go on this one for now so I'm totally ok with that. I'll prob ask again in 12 months.

Got Delta down to 10.24% as well. That was about a month ago. I was able to get in dropped twice in the month, from 12.24-11.24-10.24.

I'm good for now 😁

Got Delta down to 10.24% as well. That was about a month ago. I was able to get in dropped twice in the month, from 12.24-11.24-10.24.

It's the delta I got down to 17.24%. What was your ex score. Something helped. Trying to duplicate what you did

I don't know what op did. But I said 3 days ago. I would like ape reduction. As I might carry balance. My credit is much better from approval time. They replied. Congrats. Your are eligible. And dropped 2% points off.

Amex FICO has me at 721. I've been a member since 2013 so I think that helped to get my Delta reduced. And when I asked to have my SPG reduced I let them know that it was so much higher than my Delta and was hoping to get it closer to that.

The CSR said absolutely. We value your membership and aim to please. (paraphrased)

I did. i had a 2k balance i paid off last month. Now currently at about $200 bucks. Thats it.

My Delta Gold was opened July 2013, and is on a 12-month special 6.99% holiday rate, so can't reduce the 19.24% until November.

The Hilton card was opened in May, and I got a 2% reduction July 10, and another 2% reduction August 9, now at 15.24%

The SPG was activated August 14, and I just SM'd to get it reduced 3% - now at 16.24%. Haven't even cut the statement yet.

I figure it will take a while at this pace, but will keep asking about it every month until they say no more, hopefully at 4.25%
